hyper blink will fail inspection

WHOO HOO...got new bulbs cause they wouldn't pass my car with hyper blinking going on. No biggy, they installed some for me there, so now I'm legal again...let's see...my last inspection was in 08? HA HA.


So why did I get my insp. after not doing it for two years? I mean I could let it go, and just pay a "fix it" ticket...but...turns out...your insurance won't pay for damages if you car's inspection is out...so keep that inspection current...cause technically, if it isn't, it's like driving with no insurance. That's a hefty ticket! Plus I'd hate to cause/be in an accident and not have my insurance cover me/them!

well the two years issue isn't just me being lazy, a lot of it was, broken bulbs...fixed...hit a deer...fixed...hit a dog...fixed...old dude at work backed into me...DAMMIT!!! lol

My last inspection was in 07 I think. I don't need to stinking inspection. No problems with the cops yet either Maybe I'll get it done this summer.

In maryland we get inspected once when you register the car and never again. So we dont have that problem.

I've never had to get a car inspected in Alberta.

Now in Ontario, that's almost as bad as California.

I love living in the laid back state of Iowa no inspections, no smog, no nothing as long as you drive safe.

Also helps that here in Lethbridge,the police seem to be quite tolerant of modified vehicles. Every summer they have Street Wheelers weekend which is a bunch of events,shows and a huge cruise down the main streets.

Plus, we have a local importer in town, so the city is literally crawling with RHD imports everywhere you look. This place is awesome.

what was really annoying...they came out all serious saying that it was like a strobe and could cause someone to have a seizure...*sigh...they aren't blinking that fast...like two blinks a second...

I was like "uhm no I only get over the air antenna tv...so I didn't see that one" cause they were giving me a headache with their zero medical knowledge...and I didn't want to talk to them any more.

Oh well...I don't like the hyper blink any way so until I fix that I'll leave the regular bulbs in.

I actually kinda like the emission testing...I've been stuck behind a bunch of cars..mostly trucks...that shouldn't be on the road...going 65 and I still can't breath them in front of me.

bad emissions usually mean bad mileage unless it is nox related. ive never really seen a 4 cylinder with a failing o2 sensor shoot out black smoke so it's hard to tell however it will give you shit mileage.

the evap, PCM and egr stuff are a sometimes hard to diagnose and/or costly. like dropping a tank on a failing pressure sensor on a suburban.

They're sticklers for inspection in NJ... it sucks. They even have "mobile inspection checkpoints"... where cops set up roadblocks, and if you have anything questionable (expired sticker, plate in the wrong place, cracked windshield like I have...) they will pull you over and give you a ticket. And then charge you like $250 for an inspection.

I don't often complain about law enforcement practices... but that's one that I think is TOTAL bullshit. Especially the outrageous charge to get your car properly inspected (you don't have the option not to) at the mobile unit... that doesn't even test suspension or brakes, just emissions, lights, horn, etc...
