I WANT to believe in aliens. There's definitely the possibility of their existence. I mean, how can we be the only living creatures in the entire galaxy?
I'd like for aliens to stop by and say, "Hey guys!", as long as they don't kill us.

If there are aliens, I bet they're just as ignorant of other life in the universe as we are.
I'd rather lose by a mile because I built my own car then win by an inch because someone else built it for me..your car is your story, so don't let someone else write the book!

Yeah...
All the movies make aliens seem super smart and have advanced weapons.
What if WE'RE the smart ones with the advanced weapons? What if WE concur THEIR world?
Muahahahaha.

If we're the smartest species in this entire galaxy, then how do you explain the hundreds and thousands of cover-ups, pictures and videos? Not to mention the crash of '43...
That right there proves there other, more advanced life forms out there.
I can understand them wanting to study us, but why does it have to be a big secret? And why does our government cover it up? Why can't we know about other life forms? What's the big secret? I just dont see why aliens can't study our planet, as im sure they have been for ions, pick a landing spot and do whatever theyre gonna do. Be it, kill us or introduce themselves. Makes no sense to me. It's like seeing a girl you're curious to meet and instead of getting the balls to walk up and talk, you just keep zipping by her, giving her quick glances and getting a swift whiff of her perfume, fuck.
There is, of course, the theory that aliens are in fact, humans, but from a different time or dimension and they know what we're capable of.
I don't know why people are pushing for "disclosure" and all that. Honestly, I agree with SOME of the "conspiracy theories" to an extent. Some of it really makes sense....others don't make sense at all.
But it seems like everyone that believes in extraterrestrials pushes for disclosure...for "The Man" to just come out and say YES they exist YES we have been visited and YES they are here right now.
Do you know what type of hysteria it is going to cause? HUMANS can't even get along with OTHER HUMANS for Christ's sake. If we can't accept eachother, what makes you think that we can accept beings from another planet or galaxy? Everyone's so quick to jump and want to have their beliefs confirmed, but can they really handle that?
Take the War of the Worlds broadcast....that struck chaos and panic into thousands and thousands of people....of course that was a broadcast stating there was an attack brought upon us by extraterrestrials, but really would it be any different if they just said "yes aliens are among us" yadda yadda?
Yea it would turn into everyone wanting an uprise against them or some stupid shit. People are ridiculous. I know for a fact that if they said they existed, every damn redneck around here would grab their rifles to go try and hunt the damn things lol. As for aliens being covered up by our government, what about the rest of the world, or even third world countries?
If the gov't is worried about mass hysteria, why did they cover it up to begin with? Why not let the natural course of things happen? And they know how curious and crazy people are. You cover something up and we make a mountain out of a mole hill.
Dont "meteor showers" usually consist of 100s, if not 1000s, of meteors? And when was the last time a meteor that big, completely disintegrated before hitting the earth?
I just think their timing intervals, location and timing of "burst" are un-natural.
Ive lived in the desert. Ive seen shit you cant explain, so i believe, lol.
You are being silly.
1) Our atmosphere is specifically designed to retain heat, and to protect us from foreign objects. It is very dense and very hard to go fast through, and thus most objects burn up before ever hitting the ground, often making intensely bright streaks. The larger the meteor, the larger the streak.
2) Many meteorites have hit the Earth, but the vast, vast majority don't. They usually break up as the go, and those parts break up and so on and so forth. The rhythmic timing could have been as simple as a larger meteorite fragmenting into 4 smaller parts, and the fact that those parts were traveling similar speeds, in a similar direction, from a similar origin. Certainly nothing mystifying or illogical there. See the Space Shuttle Columbia for an example.
Also, if you watch the video, it is pretty clear that the "parts" were disintegrating as they traveled, as evidenced by the decrease in size of the fireball, and then its sudden disappearance.
Also, like has been said, it could have been many hundreds or even thousands of miles away, thus leading to visual distortions.
3) Just because the media called it a meteor shower, doesn't mean the scientists would call it that. The media misuses technical terms ALL THE TIME.
4) You haven't lived in the desert nearly as long as I have, and I have yet to see anything that isn't explainable by logic.

I just dont see what the big deal is. Why lie?
Usually, people make a mountain out of a mole hill that was never covered up and didn't exist. Believe me, if they didn't want you to see something, you wouldn't. All these wannabe snopes that think they uncovered some huge mystery and conspiracy. It is simply a way for them to feel in control of their lives, when really they aren't.
See the Manhattan project for instance. Not only did they build an entire city and 3 complete factories, but they did all sorts of scientific research and the employees doing the work had NO IDEA what they were working on. Only a key team of scientists in NM knew the whole picture.

Damn you, Scott and your logic.
I lived in the desert for 6 months and saw 2 occurances. Neither of which could be explained by MY logic. One was, what, at first, appeared to be a shooting star, only this came to a complete stop. Then the object "flashed" a bright green light. Then it moved left, stopped. Moved upward, then back down and finally just disappeared. Was it in our atmosphere? I dont know. It was a little larger than the "standard star" so who knows how far away it was. Whatever it was, i had never seen before.
The other being the "Phoenix Lights" only they were over the valley i lived in, about 120 miles West of Phoenix and about 95 miles North of Yuma. Right wehre 10 and 95 intersect. Not to mention the Proving Grounds going down to Yuma. Never saw anything "alien" but still rather strange. Pulled over once to let the dog go to the bathroom and we werent there but maybe 3 minutes before a black tahoe pulled up and asked us what we were doing and then proceeded to tell us that we "couldnt be out here" and need "to leave and continue on our way."
