    acura CL.....

so. lately, for some reason, ive been thinking about 97-99 acura CL's. i think they look unique. and ive been contemplating about getting one.

i need some advice though. or thoughts about it. i dont know much about them or any problems theyve had.

im leaning towards the 3.0 cl but it comes in autotragic. but willing to sacrifice cause its rated at 200hp. but mostly want a 2.3 with a manuel.

    any thoughts??

(this pic makes me want one)

go for it man. but only if its a good deal. mite be the car of your dreams..but as u can tell from owning a cb7, dont let it be a money pit lol. it has lots of aftermarket parts too. from what i heard from my friend that works at a acura/honda dealer, the 2.3cl manuals are a bit rarer to find.

i never rode in one, but im pretty sure its very similar to the 98-02 accords. i had a 2.3L and the suspensions pretty nice stock.

ye i used to think theyre not all that cool. but lately got this feeling for it.

i mite get a good deal on a white 3.0 cl. it has some damage but nothing to major. just needs a hood and some paint. so im excited. but also thinking about it.

they do look kinda odd, compared to say the cb, which is refined and toned down.

the CLs look a little "futuristic" lol for the 90s. still a cool car tho. let us know

Mechanically it's basically a 6th gen Accord. They're not bad looking though, and they're solid cars. You could always spend a bit more and get the CL-S... hell, find one with a 6 speed manual. They exist.

99 cl's dont come with S. and i dont want the 02 cl if thats what your talking about. 97-99 cl have an autotragic 3.0 vtec or 2.2/2.3 vtec.

and ye dj. it looks futuristic.

I'm with the person above, find a 2003 cl-s six speed. The only year that generation came in six speed, but totally worth it. The cl you're looking at is identical to a sixth gen motor wise, but it has four lug instead of five lugs like the sixth gen accord. The 200hp rating is way overrated. I drive a 6th gen v6 and they are nowhere close to 200. torque is better than the 2.3 though. All in all though, I think 3.2 cl's look better, and are more fun to drive.

idk i just like the 99 body style. 03 looks too beefy for a coupe.

will a 6 speed tranny work with the 3.0 cl.

                          that would be tight.

Isn't that style more of a fifth gen... Same basic motor and exact interior below the upper dash..
