    need some car buying assistance

alright well i have $4000 dollars to buy a new car. and i have no idea what i could get for that price that isnt rusted to hell. any ideas of cars that are generally around there or lower? besides cb's lol i have one and i want to park it and tear it down to fix it CORRECTLY lol.

and i cant put that money into the cb inlese i find one for less and use the extra for the cb since..its my only car i would be out of luck until it was done
You don't have to like what he did, but I would hope that you can appreciate the time, money and love that went in to the build. If you can't, you're not really an enthusiast, just another dumb kid with a car.-visualpoet

Yea that generation had bad tranny problems. I would look into a 96-97 Accord that may have lower mileage around 100k for $3500~. Every once in a blue moon I see a 7th gen for about $5000 depending on condition.

But since you are just tearing into your CB, why not just find a cheap daily? I messed around and bought my Civic for $400 and put a motor in it. I got about 1300 in it now and it drives like a new car and even has cold a/c. Just because you have $4000 doesnt mean you have to spend it all ya know. I have about $5000 saved for hard times and I havent gotten a nice car yet. And when you buy that daily, you can always resell it and get your money back or just keep it for a spare.

Hahaha once you go from roomy CB to a small sports coupe it sucks and takes time getting used to. I can barely stand riding in my Civic most of the time due to the fact I dont have alot of space to carry my usual shit.

IMO not too many options in that price range... late 90s-early 00s Accord or Civic..Corolla that's pretty much it if you want reliability.

Probably the worst Accord ever made. Cheap materials, cheap workmanship, and stupid problems that show how Honda's quality control had begun to slip. I LOVE the way the coupe looks... but I wouldn't own one (again... my ex and I bought an 02 SE, and I don't regret letting her take it when she left!)

$4000 really won't get you a good car. It COULD, but any car you get for that price would be a risk.
