Really odd tranny problem...anyone ever encounter something like this?

So as some of you know, I've been having tranny problems in the DSM. Once the tranny was cracked open, we found the 3-4 shift fork broken in half. This was the cause of my 3rd gear missing.

Got the car back Friday night, everything was good...drove it to the dealership on Saturday to pick a few things up and on the way home, I was at a light and put it into first and started to drive and the goddamn thing popped out of gear. I was like WTF is this....so I put it in first again and it did the same thing, except this time was grinding some.

So I started off in 2nd and drove home. Got home, adjusted the cables, etc etc and it still did the same thing. So I put it into first with the motor off....and I could roll the car like it was in Neutral. Fucking weird. Put it into every other gear and the car wouldn't budge.

HMMMM, so I adjust the cables one more time, nope didn't work. Took the cables off of the tranny and put the tranny itself into the 1st gear position. I could STILL push the car.

So I was thinking A) he fucked something up putting it back together...left a C-clip off the intermediate shaft or something. B) a bad synchro, even though he said they were all good and I visually looked at the gears and synchros when the tranny was apart...everything checked out fine. C) shift fork broke.

So I'm like FUCK THIS GUY....took it to a guy that specializes in transmissions. Highly recommended by a lot of people. Dropped it off with him and he calls me a little while ago saying he drove the car, didn't have any problems with the tranny whatsoever. Didn't hear any noises, didn't have any grinds, everything was smooth and just fine.

So my question is....what the FUCK is up with the tranny? Obviously something must have stuck inside...maybe the first gear synchro was stuck or something. I don't know. I am at a loss....one minute it's working just fine, the next minute the first gear is out and acts like Neutral with the car off, then it magically works again.

shouldnt you have posted this thread in the other automotive car section or atleast technical section? Also ehh the dsm part maybe it just doesnt like you anymore j/k uhhh lets see i strongly think its a synchro of perhaps clutch pedal adjustment.

Did you bleed the slave cylinder properly ? or maybe its the bushings on the cables that go onto the tranny once those go bad i hear they give issues. those are the only things i can think of at the moment. Do you by any chance have a plastic pivot bushing on your pedal for the clutch?

1st off, you're asking us about the internals of a transmission. 90% of the people have never opened a transmission.

2nd, it's a DSM transmission so it could potentially be different to the people who HAVE taken apart a honda transmission.

3rd, it's a dsm. it's like bringing up my VW problems. waste of effort.
      I <3 G60.

0.5mm Oversized Stainless valves and bronze guides available. Pm me please.

Please re-read what I wrote. I said even with the car OFF and the cables OFF of the tranny itself, putting the tranny into 1st manually, it still doesn't go into first. This has nothing to do with the clutch since the car is OFF.

The tranny isn't that complex. There are no fancy electronics and gadgets. I am sure 90% of the manual tranny vehicles that have the gear popping out like that all come down to a few common problem points.
