Cop Shoots Dog in Head...was it Justified?

The cop gets out of the car, sees the dog, has his gun drawn....but waits until the last minute to shoot him. I think the dog was just running out to see who the visitor was. My wife's parents dog does this all the time...granted, he isn't as big as the dog in the video but still. I see this two ways....one, he could be justified since the dog was running at him. On the other hand, he waited far too long and could've gotten back in his car if he was really in fear of his life.

The fact that the PD tried to pay her off says something as well...

I don't know what this is in reference to, but that dog's death wasn't justified. Officer or not, he was wrong to cause that animal harm without it attacking him.

I'm just kind of indifferent to the whole thing. I mean could the cop have gotten back in the car, sure, but could the woman have kept her dog inside instead of running in the street, sure. We see how it turned out though. Then we have here on interview saying she thinks the cop was trying to show off to the guy riding in the car. How does she know what he was thinking?

why should she have to? police are supposed to be a good presence... nobody should have to fear the police presence that much... i think this particular situation is messed up... not gonna go off and say i hate police tho.

You're right, she doesn't know what he was thinking. She could very well be wrong. Having disdain towards animal brutality as a pet owner myself, I understand how her speculation is defensive.

Looks to me like it was her property, and not just "the street."

theres two sides to every story.... just as much as they attack law enforcement u stand behind every situation. u sound just as one sided.

i have not sided with law enforcement on every situation....i do however ALWAYS will defend that not all officers are crooks or assholes or jerkoffs. Just because if 1 cop does something wrong doesnt mean all cops are assholes. I once had a shitty waiter at a restaurant, but I dont think all waiters are assholes.

fair enough. ive had LOTS of unjustified asshole cops fuck with me when i was a bit younger... i literally did NOTHING wrong and they would profile me based on where i lived and who my friends were. things like that put a bad taste in ur mouth. im not gonna sit here and say cops are assholes or crooks cuz i know better... but im not overly thrilled with law enforcement in a lot of scenarios. and since we are on the topic, whats up with the smug attitude u get from a lot of police?
