well yeh they dont want a law suit so they bribe you with free foodYou don't have to like what he did, but I would hope that you can appreciate the time, money and love that went in to the build. If you can't, you're not really an enthusiast, just another dumb kid with a car.

Money and Knowledge are never in the same sentence, because people with Money think they know it all, but people with knowledge, know better.-ragingasian

Yeah, that's true. Nobody ever considers that... I'm glad you do! People assume "Oh, I'll just sue McDonald's... they can afford it!" But if you sue, the employee responsible, as well as the manager on duty, and potentially the store manager, will get fired. If you're in a franchise store, and you sue the corporation, they could decide to revoke the franchise license of the owner, citing them as a liability. Sure, McDonald's can afford to pay a sizable sum for a little butt-bruise, but the people that lose their jobs in the process can't!
That happened to my boss at Outback. He got called to another store to cover for the store manager. He got there, and they were understaffed in the kitchen AND on the floor (servers). So, my boss being a former cook, jumped on the line and started cooking. Meanwhile, a bunch of guys were drinking like crazy. The waitress SHOULD have known to stop serving them, but she made a bad call... the fact that the place was a madhouse due to understaffing (a problem MY store NEVER had, thanks to my boss...) could have contributed to her carelessness.
Anyway, one dude stood up to go to the bathroom... and his drunk ass fell over. Smacked his head on the floor, and was gushing blood everywhere. He ended up being fine... just a little shaken up. However, the police and ambulance had to be called, and a report had to be filed. The guy sued because they allowed him to drink so much.
My boss got fired for that. As did the waitress, and the bartender.
In that situation, the server probably DID deserve to get fired. She was careless, and we were trained in alcohol service. We could tell when someone was drunk, and we also knew how many drinks were too many for a person of a certain size, and over a certain time period.
The ironic thing is, my boss got fired... but the store manager that he covered for... the one that left him with that understaffed condition, retained his job.

Another employer trying to bring you down?Originally posted by Shag Wagon View PostYea I hear that. Most big companies like that are smart and dont keep people around like that. I hate working for places like that because if you do the stupidest thing wrong by accident you get fired. I got fired from a grocery store because of some shit somebody else done.
