    Need some blister assistance

Alright well i havent wore work boots in forever and i got a new job requiring me to wear them. i now have these really soar blisters on the back heel of my feet. and they hurt so bad when i wear sneakers/boots. but im required to wear boots. so does anyone know of anything i can use that will keep them covered and from hurting while in boots. that wont peel off and bunch up in 5 minutes? i am currently using moleskin it works alright but theres still pain.

Use a bandaid patch...the big square ones. Then wrap that with a piece of that fabric bandage shit.

Yea...the bandaid will make it to where whatever rubs won't rub against the skin. The wrap will take the rubbing and hold the bandage on. I think it'll work. Only one way to find out....

BandAid actually makes blister-specific things. They're like big soft medicated pads.

That, or take a dose of man the fuck up and just pop those suckers, keep em clean and covered when you're on your feet, and let them breathe when you're not... and just deal with it.

Yeah, I've been there. I remember my first day on the job doing construction when I was 18... mid-January, during a snow/ice storm. I made it through the day, but the blisters were excruciating by the evening. My girlfriend lived 4 blocks away... across a baseball field and up a hill. She came down to visit when I got home. As usual, when it was time for her to leave, I walked her halfway home, to the other side of the field. I remember standing with her in the dark, on a sheet of ice that was the field, wondering how I was going to make it home...

It's weird, I just randomly thought of that night today at work. Strange how it applies here.

I never wore those boots again. I also never rode bitch in the truck again with Jeff, the fat guy that could fart on command.

I'd say invest in some good expensive boots if you plan on doing this for a while. I picked up a pair of Doc Martens about a year and a half ago, and they've ALWAYS been comfortable. Never had to break them in. Never got blisters. Nothing. They come in steel toe as well (mine aren't, but I don't need the protection, or the excess weight!) I'm wearing them right now, in fact. They cost me about $150... not cheap, but well worth it. I've learned that the best thing to do is spend a lot on your shoes... they'll last a long time, and they won't hurt.

see i have always wore brahma boots you can get them at wal mart and just about everywhere. The ones i have are very comfortable. my boots are always super tight and i think maybe thats why im getting them. but i always thought you only get them from having you shoes to loose and them sliding up and down on the back of your foot (where my blisters are)

Yeah, blisters are usually from sliding around, creating friction. Of course, if your boots are tight, then it probably takes less movement to create that friction. Your skin is ALWAYS being rubbed as you move.

Other options are to add pads to the boots (that didnt' help with a cheap pair of dress shoes... as with my Docs, I finally sucked it up and spent $130 on some good Florsheims!) or you could wear extra-cushy socks.

im gonna wrap it up with tape moleskin and a gauze pad. thick socks. and im going to leave them alittle looser than usual. because i mean if it hurts to much to have them loose i can just bend over and tie them tighter lol
