They applied, but I doubt they'll get it. If they do, it'll be fought. HARD.
Voiding the warranty, fine. I'll agree with that. They shouldn't have to replace a phone under warranty that broke because you tampered with it. But bricking the phone? That's unreasonable. Especially since the US government just made jailbreaking and unlocking phones 100% legal... and the US is one of the largest markets for the iPhone, if not THE largest market.

If they want to keep people from jailbreaking their phones, they should see WHY people are doing it, and find a way to offer those features without the need to jailbreak.

People who abuse it ruin it for the honest people. I want a jailbroken iPhone so I can do things that you can't do otherwise (like run emulators ) I don't care to use it to pirate software. If someone put in the effort to write a great program, I'll shell out $5 for it. MOST iPhone apps are very reasonably priced.

Regardless... the need to jailbreak the 4 is unnecessary, because Netflix finally released the app! I'm about to go bust a grumpy while watching Buffy.

I ordered my 4 today. The guy at the store said I used .5gb of data transfer last month... and I didn't use my phone for much. With the 4 (and 3G!), Netflix, Pandora radio, and who knows what else I'll find... Yeah... I will be wrecking shop on AT&T's network!

It works over 3G. I managed to get it to load a video over my regular cell connection at full signal, but it was too choppy to be watchable. Wifi is damn near perfect. I'll be able to watch on my 4 with a 3G signal.
