TheTyne little things that help me fall in love with my cb

I love my cb but recently after a 5 speed swap and half assed wire tuck (first time doing it) my cb has been rather troublesome, horn, fog, wipers and passenger headlight been acting funny... Not having time or a knowledgable cb guy I'm forced to deal with it and I must say I'm getting ready to give up, longest my cb was ever dirty was a day or two but it's been over 3 month since last wash... Anywho (if that's a real word) tonight as I was speeding on I-91 I flashed by another cb with mass plates, green with bronze Volk or Rota wheels, side markers and yellow fogs ( look like universal) after I got about half a mile away I slowed down and looked through my rear view mirror, saw the guy swirving cars trying to catch up, after he did we both began a series of tag runs for a few miles, doing 90mph or so little swirving I had a blast till my exit came up.for that brief moment I felt like my cb was perfect, felt like two kids playing in the sand box showing each others toys. I hate how Ct has little to no cb crews... If I ever see a cb on the road it's usually a female driver with every panel dented in and rotted exhaust or some Mexican with a huge body kit and autozone accesories with some sort of outdated chrome hubcaps.... Whoever that guy was Thanks

... Sorry for writing like a two year old, I'm on my iPhone and a bit tired

Its one hell of a huge run on sentence but..did you ever try to search the regional section?

I know of quite a few members down in your area..some of them moved on some of them stuck around.

That's cool. I remember, a few weeks after I traded my Accord for that stupid Jetta, I had spotted a super clean maroon CB7 here in town with a turbo.

On the street wheeler's weekend here (large weekend of cruising, shows and autox and drag events), I was (shamefully) cruising in the Jetta and spotted the Accord coming in the opposite direction. We both ended up at red lights across from each other. As he roasted the tires as the light turned green, I have him a huge thumbs up out my window with a giant shit eating grin on my face and he just appropriately gave me an acknowledging head nod.

      Felt good inside.

That's exactly why wire tucks make me a little nervous. Whether professional jobs or not. Just sayin

And yeah man, we're not that far away really. It's just that people have so much stuff going on, and since I can only speak for myself- is why I never drive the 1.5 hours to meets.

But we can do highway runs in spirit. CB's are fun, a lot of guys have left the "scene" (quotations here are important), then have come back to them and gotten back out of them.

I'd say like 80% of the accords I see around here are all stock like mine but owned by old people. Only difference is theirs are rotted, and mine isn't for once. Even kids who own civics aren't interested in accords

edit:: their argument is that they're too heavy. but some of us just know better.

"Its one hell of a huge run on sentence"

lol I know, sorry about that. I have big fingers and if I try to have proper grammar or spelling It will take me hours with this phone. The problem with my harness is not so much as a bad job, it wasn't done with all the proper precautions or safety measures, someone tried stealing my car and they ripped the wheel well cover leaving wires exposed to the elements and the wheel itself. Another one of my problems is that every one lives 25minutes + away

JaberCB check out protunef22. I just met him at the NY winter meet sunday. The car you described sounds just like his, and hes from MA. Im from CT too and I dont see many members around here. There are alot of CBs in my city but none of em are members that I know of. I actually try and stop some of the better looking ones and tell them about the site, or leave an index card with the site address on there windshield. lol

One thing that helped me fall in love with my cb was that if i was thirsty, all I had to do was scoop some water out of the trunk. Fixed that since then though.

There are a few articles in the DIY section on this subject that would be good to check out.
