GT4 Comes out today :)

oh man my eyes are hurting from playing Gt4....oh well mmmorning shift for GT4 now

haha thats the only reason why i stop playing..

So overall what do you guys think? I understand that a lot of people were disappointed in it. Some say its like an expansion pack to GT3. Personally I love the game and to anyone who hasn't played yet this is my suggestion. If you are a hardcore Gran Turismo fan, hardcore autocrosser, or simply a competitive person (with this online play, it'll be awesome.. we need more people playing this though since there aren't a lot of people on the network), then get the game. If you think racing one race after another is boring, or the game is too hard, or rally mode is too frustrating, then don't get it. I see the game being harder an oppurtunity to get better.

i downloaded the xlink kai evo7... i got it to set up properly, i'm network reachable, yet it doesnt see my ps2... i'm behind a 2 routers, 1 wireless (the main) and my second i use as a switch to uplink to the main one... i stopped the router from assigning ip addresses to my ps2 and i assigned static ips to all the other computers... it says that kai evolution should act as a dhcp server, yet it doesnt assign IPs to the ps2...

if i ever figure this out, i'll let you guys know to help ease the install process...

Please! That stuff is beyond me... I was on my way to learning computers a while back, but the little I learned I have since forgotten. If I can't download an installer, it's too much for me.

I just did that transfer thing of the licenses, cars, and $100,000 from GT3 that I was prompted to do before the game started and then just played acarde 2 player battle against my friends here at home. I actually haven't played the simulation yet.

How do you transfer the cars from GT3? I could only transfer licenses and 100k...Anyone know?

I wonder if it's only doable in arcade mode... and not GT mode...


but on a sidenote... 67 A SPEC points and about 20ish races won... thank you you very much 96 Skyline GT-R...

I think someone on here IM'd me last night while I was sleeping about what to download. It's called Kai Evolution or something on the xlink site. Make sure you're using a crossover cable.. I found that using a wireless hub it(playing online, PERIOD) won't work without one.

WRONG! There IS(!) online play! The same people who made the Xbox Connect software to play online for free have done it for GT4! That's right, it tricks your PS2 into thinking its in LAN mode when in reality its ONLINE. So my fellow CB7Tuners.. I introduce to you.... http://teamxlink.co.uk . XLINK.

Requirements:
A broadband connection
A computer
PS2 with Ethernet Adaptor
The Xlink Software
A Copy of GT4
And a router.

all you are doing there is setting up a VPN, but it should work

okay, so ive had it since tuesday. ive only got to play it about 3 hours so far (!) dammit... i've just been doing arcade and license tests. all golds to B11 so far! free cars here i come! anyway, heres my gt4 ride atm... enjoy





p.s. - 900 degrees of freedom is SWEET
p.p.s. - you can save jpgs from the game to a USB flash drive as well...
