    Need vacation ideas!

Alright, so I have a week off from work at the end of August and I want to try to travel some where. I know I didn't really plan ahead, but I've never planned a vacation before either, so this is kind of last minute. Unfortunately, I'll probably be traveling by myself because no one else I know has money or can get off work.

Here's the deal. I'm 22, so I'm not exactly sure about renting a car. I don't have a TON of money, but I'm not broke either. I could probably afford $400-$700. The only ideas I had was something like California, New York, maybe a cruise? I honestly don't have the slightest idea what cities to fly to, or what I'd even do once I got anywhere lol. Help me out!

A cruise would probably be your best bet. You don't have to worry about renting a car, or figuring out what to do... the cruise will have all you need on it (and at the designated stops.) I have yet to go on one, but they seem like a hell of a lot of fun for very little money.

Also a good place to meet people, sucks that no one else you know can go, but you'll being stuck on a boat will probably allow to meet others...

I wouldnt want to go on a cruise alone.

But that New York thing sounds fun. Ive actually thought about taking a road trip there with some friends, and splitting all costs. The idea ended with: What are we gonna do when we get there??

If you google: things to do in new york, youll probably find some neat stuff. But then again, if you just go there, get on the subway, and go with the flow, im pretty sure you'll have lots of fun too!

I've been reading conflicting things on the internet, do you need a passport to go on a cruise if you're leaving and returning to the same port?

No but you'll need proof of citizenship like certified birth certificate and two forms of ID.

I went on a cruise in the Bahamas a month ago. I think you could find some fun if you went on your own.

Well turns out all of the $480-$700 cruises are only that price as long as there is atleast 2 of you, didn't know that lol. Going by myself would double any of those prices so I guess that's out of the picture

Galveston beach is right there in Houston.

You might want to just kick back at your own place and just relax for a week. There's nothing wrong with just sitting around, playing some games, and taking it easy.
