Facebook and Work?

Got a question what are your thoughts of adding co workers to your facebook? Do you have anyone? if so, why? If not, why not?

I am only asking because the hot chick I worked with this summer, (like 8 hours a day, just me and her) and I am one, who doesnt like to break my rules because of all of the drinking pictures, and everything else.

I only added the cool friends from work, like ones with personalities close to mine. There were some older people that made it onto my FB only because their minds were as twisted as mine.

My most important rule is never to add anyone that is above me in rank. If they were on my facebook, then i'd feel like i'm at work all the time. I never wanted them to know what i was thinking about them.

ive got people from work on my friends list.. i wouldnt care if people from work saw any pics of me drinking outside of work.. that SHOULDNT matter as long as you leave it outside of work..

that whole issue with employers discriminating because of shit on facebook is fucking stupid IMO..

I only add friends ... if my co- workers become friends then yes I'll add em .. but if they're w/ that whole "hey JZ add me on fb!" And we only talk cause we both work at the same place ... Pfft ... how bout u friend request me so I can block ur ass

just to clarify.. the ones i have on there are also people i have hung out with outside of work.. my company is a small company and i pretty much interact with everyone everyday, so even if one of the ones i DONT hang out with asked me, i would add them..

No I don't mix business with pleasure, If I knew you and before we started the job together, or I happen to know you and we started working, together than yes. I would say otherwise no it's different. I dont want everyone knowning about my personal life.

there coworkers, not friends. and if your worried about people seeing pics that you don't want them to see? change your pic settings.

Couples years back when fb started getting really popular i got tons of fb requests from co-workers who i added not really thinking anything about it. Well, I had my moto Q which kept me logged in to fb always (same like my android) so it seems like i was always on fb even during work (even tho I was posting or commenting during work hours). Well, one of my co-workers felt the need to go snitch to my manager that im on fb ALL day long while I should be working. Well, my manager and i are cool so she told that someone snitch but wouldnt tell who it was and i needed to handle it so she doesnt have to hear about it again.

What did I do? I deleted every single so-worker from my friend list since i couldnt say for sure who the snitch was. I recently just added back "key" co-workers to my fb that i think I can trust. Its always good to separate work from play so I'll vote for you to be very careful which co-worker you had because u never know.

If you would consider them your friends then I don't see any issue. That is, unless you are posting pictures of yourself shooting up meth or something along those lines.

Work stays at work and home life stays at home. It only becomes an issue when the two start to interfere with each other. If I know a co-worker gets piss drunk every night but is at work on time getting their job done then I don't see an issue from a work perspective. If they are coming in hungover and are unproductive until after lunch that's another matter.

I have a few co-workers on my facebook.....2 of which I am legit friends with....we hang out and party together all the time....the rest we work together thats about how far the relationship goes....I have no secrets....people know what I do in my off time....but when Im at work im there to work so Ive yet to have any issues.

The thing that sucks is I have my uncle who is upper management for my company....so I really gotta keep some things low key incase he finds out.

The engineers i work with at my job are so old, they don't know what Facebook is. They've been there for 20 something, sometimes even 30 something years lol.

I don't think them having a Facebok account is appropriate for their age haha. I'm FB friends with the other intern though...since I know him from college and he wouldn't rat me out for anything.

all the guys i work with i have on my facebook...were all city workers who work outside so our days are spent of us each talking about how fucked up we got over the weekend, who slept with what broad and how much drugs each person did lol (i dont do em though). i even have my foremen on my facebook...they're older and married with kids, so it lets them live vicariously through us hahaha.

and facebook is extremely easy to pick up broads...so long as you know them...dont go type in a random girls name and find a local girl whos hot and add her lol..
