The Camry will certainly discourage modding, that's for sure!

Not a bad option, though it's true that the V6 won't be great on gas. Not terrible, though. It's not a bad option.

The discouragement of dumping money on mods is the exact reason this caught my eye and my grandmother has one of these and it got excellent gas! about 30 combined mpg to be exact pretty good for that type of motor

I still would encourage you to get a CB7. I bought my 90 EX w/ 247k miles on it and have already put 15k on it since June 11'. I really didn't need to do anything to it to just drive it back and forth to work but I replaced all the worn out stuff like balljoints, tierods, put some JY KYB GR2 shocks in good shape, brake rotors/pads, wheel bearings, sway bar endlink bushings, strut mount bushings, motor mounts and did the timing belt for peace of mind....and then little stuff like spark plugs and wires and it gets a consistent 30mpg for the 30 mile commute to and from work. I did things that I could do in an hour or less every Sunday that wouldn't kill me or cause me to miss work on Mondays to fix it up.

There were times last semester I was driving 100 miles a day 3 days a week to go to work/school. All I did was put an AEM intake on it, not for power, but for gas mileage and it helped about 2-3mpg I was getting 28 before.

So the car cost me 700 bucks and I put about that +/- in just parts. I'm sitting at 1600 for a DD that I wouldn't hesistate to drive across country and back. This car is pretty awesome. Whenever I drive long distances over 30 miles, I always take that instead of my H22 since its such a perfect hwy cruiser.

With that comes grants and loans in addition to refunds. Because i want to continue the build on my four door, i am considering getting a car as a daily driver. Really im looking for something stock that was well taken care of in a decent price range. So, i ask you all this. Because i am mostly interested in another cb, i am looking for one of them but also considering a new model car, what would you go with and why? Also if anyone has insight as to how to tell if its had a hard life or not that would be greatly appreciated. Also, I have a budget of ballpark 2400-3400.
Well if yoru considering getting a car as a daily driver get a toyota tercell I think the 2004 or 2005 model they go for dirt cheap. The chinese resturants have them and they make good use of them for deliveries long distance runs and good fuel economy without the need for a tune-up. You want to be able to stretch your money and get the most for your dollar.

Tercel meaning the Yaris or Echo? Not sure which one is the replacement.
