The not so talked about Vigor

As many of us know this is the redheaded stepchild of the Accord and Legend, the car honda doesn't talk about. But I was thinking I wonder if anyone has done a K, J or even a F22C swap in one of these. Honestly I think it could be done and would be quite diff than what we normally see here. I want to know some thoughts on how this might just work out. Seems a hair far fetched but this I think could be done with time and money (we knew that already).

Things I have considered already a non issue:
    1. Suspension: Like that of the CB (the Vigor is a CB/CC)
    2. Brakes (Assuming they are 4 lug or even 5 lug) swap or something of that fashion

    Thoughts and lets discuss.

We had a few Vigor owners on here in the past. Not sure if there are any active anymore.

The G25 is a weird engine... 5 cylinders, longitudinally mounted (like a RWD car), but FWD. Makes swaps a HUGE hassle! I would think the only swap that might possibly work and be worthwhile would be the C32 Type 2 from the Legend, with the 6 speed manual. It has the same funky longitudinal layout. Of course, it'd only be a 30hp bump, and I'd expect a bit more weight and hassle.

An F22C swap would be the shit. The Vigor, much like the 1st and 2nd gen Legend, just SCREAMS RWD to me.
Of course, I wonder if the F22C and G25 spin the same direction... and if the F22C could be mated to the G25's transmission... It'd be a smaller engine, less torque... but lighter, and more powerful at its peak, with a MUCH better aftermarket!

The legends type 2 engine makes 60hp more than the vigors motor, well 54.

The vigor makes 176hp from the factory

A good mod you could do is parts from the 2.5TL. Although most people think they are the same they're not. The vigor is a g25a1 where as the TL is a g25a4. The difference is the a4 has higher compression ( 9.6:1 vs 9.0:1 ), it also has a different intake manifold. Honda rates the motor at 176hp as well but its inaccurate. Honda under rated the HP to not take away from sales of the 3.2TL that only makes 200.

For some reason I thought the Vigor made 200... so I guess that would be similar to an H22 swap, in a way (going from a CB7 point of view)

I think it could be done of course it would need a modded driveshaft but shiiiiiiit That just sounds like fun. If you think about it the only thing that hampers the Vigor would be it's engine, other than that I sense that it could be a monster. I am trying to find one now

Just leave the motor in it, its the only thing that makes the car cool as far as i'm concerned.

I agree. 5 cylinders may not be the most balanced, but it's cool. Volvo and VW have made good use of them!

The engine is similar to the F22A, with an extra cylinder. I don't think it has quite the potential, but it's close. There's just NO aftermarket. I'm sure you could send a camshaft in for a regrind, and custom pistons and rods wouldn't be THAT much.

I'd be more afraid of that transmission. I don't imagine it can hold too much. It's a weird design, and unlike options for the F and H, they are NOT a dime a dozen!
