Core strength is indeed a must (I lack it... if I sit on the floor for 5 minutes, I flop on my back... )

Comfortable shoes are a must. Proper support is necessary, but the support has to be right for you... some people need lots of arch support, some need none... too much or not enough can be equally painful, and cause problems all over.

A good bed is important. I was in constant pain until I got a nice new bed. Firmer than my old one, but in good condition (not saggy in the middle...)

Pants that fit properly are also important. Believe it or not, if you're into wearing tight pants, squeezing your boys can cause back pain. Learned that from my girl-jean-wearing hipster friend. He deals with the pain so he can look "good"

Smoke a fat J after work, and after a work out. work out o=on the core muscles and you will be fine. Stretching helps but please don't take pain relievers they are bad for you as it is.

So should he wear his pants around his thighs and waddle everywhere he goes? That seems to be a cool thing to do and I'm sure his "boys" will have plenty of room.

Yes because smoking a couple "Fat J's" is so much healthier than popping an Aleve. Legal too.

If the OP has kidney issues, he shouldn't take aleve since that filters through them. Too much ibuprofen is bad for his stomach too so it's a lose lose situation.

I suffer from it as well, was worse 6 months ago when I found that u had something called lipoma bumps that were growing in my back and pushing on nerves in my spine, I'm 6'8" tall do needless to say most vehicles I work on are to low. It's just something your body will never get used to
