    Honda Customer Appreciation Days

Got a mailer today from Honda. October 1 - 15 is Customer Appreciation Days and they're offering a $5 off Oil Change and Multi-Point Inspection coupon along with something I thought was kinda cool; an "I <3 My Honda" expandable trunk organizer.

Basically, just visit the service department between Oct 1-15, generate an RO, go to www.hondaservicegift.com and enter the requested information.

Didn't know if everyone got one of these or it may be a regional thing--IDK. Just thought I'd put it out for everyone to try.

I know. It says that in the coupon. I just thought I'd be thorough.

          Shitty

I had a similar experience with my local honda dealership too. My boosted cb was giving me some electrical grief and so I took it in to have them diagnose wtf was going on and I quickly realized that not one single "car guy" worked at the dealership.

          I was so disappointed.

All this talk about "buy a new accord" and "this thing is old as fuck" and "do they even make parts for these anymore" and "Why 15w40 oil?" like they didn't notice the FMIC or the TURBO under the hood.

WTF? Why does my car have more miles on it after diagnosing the electrical problem? Sure you didn't drive it 17 miles.... Sure you didn't.

Seriously, I just don't get it. Why work as a mechanic anywhere if you are not a car guy. Its not like they do it for the money, thats for sure.

Last time I took it to my local honda dealership to have the seatbelts replaced, they pressure washed the paint off my pass. side mirror. They wouldn't take responsibility, not even to cover the 20 bucks in sandpaper and paint I bought to try and DIY fix it myself.

I also took my car to them a couple years before that to inspect a stumbling upon startup and they couldn't figure it out after holding my car hostage for 2 days. It turned out to be a headgasket issue, that I had to tell them about after I researched it on my own. They had the nerve to charge me the full diag. fee too after they couldn't tell me anything I already knew.

I only go to the dealer for parts now, period.

lol at mine, we're told to put 5/20 in any older car. no matter if it says 5/30 or 10/30

I only go to one dealer, and I really only trust one tech (Jak Frostwhite... or at the very least, someone HE trusts.) I've been screwed by dealerships elsewhere in the past.
Aside from my current need to have my brakes and clutch properly bled, I don't like taking the CB anywhere. The whole point of having that car is to wrench on it myself!
