Ebay weirdness

Hey guys, I was bidding on some Rota's on Ebay. They had two days left to go, and they disappeared. The seller emails me(we'd been talking before), and asked me if I still interested. He said that ebay had forced him to get rid of it because they were replicas, and told me to shoot him an offer. What gives? Any advice?

good feedback or no - you're taking your own chance by dealing privately.

and that takes away a lot of warranty, such as you would be offered with ebay ... in case stuff doesn't go through -

but that's just my opinion. cause with the internet you never really know who people are ....

Try to see if he can put up the auction at a buy it now price that you agree to and say that you really want feedback this and that and that you'd be willing to pay a few extra bux to cover the re-listing fees iuno its worth a shot if your really interested in them.

I was thinking about going through Paypal so I have a record, and paying half up front and half later. I was also thinking about contacting Ebay and asking them about the auction to see if he's bullshitting me.

Don't do it. You're honestly asking for trouble. Paypal is horrible in giving money in cases where fraud is present...it will be even worse since it's outside ebay. If this guy wants a legit transaction, tell him you'll go through an escrow service.

What price are you getting them at? 16" go for $500 shipped all day on the internet. If you're getting them for around 250-300 then I guess I'm look at other options but if it's near 400-450 then I'd just get them from machiii.net

that's cool. as long as its getting done through eBay - and he seems to understand your concern, too - which can be a good sign

It's not THAT great of a deal, two are bent. I hope I can find someone out here in the middle of nowhere to fix them. If not, I'll buy two new ones from Jaydm.com. But the other two are brand new in the box, still wrapped in plastic.
