not bad, i would focus on your shooting angle, composition, and balance. If your shooting that close to the flower, than maybe try a macro mode to capture the inner detail of the flower, and try to think of rule of thirds. Also, make the viewer ask him/herself questions. That old window in the background would be interesting with it being rustic and all that paint peeling off. Are there any industrial areas around you, those are great for shooting cars.

what kind of camera do you use? and do you manually set your options or do you just point and shoot? cause i can give you as many tips as you want

compostionally, the first two are excellent. the contrast of the bright flowers against the pale blue and gray of the background is great. also your placement of the subject within the frame makes the images more dynamic - as opposed to being boring and static. however, i'm not sure about how i feel about that shadow cutting through the right side of the first pic - the only things that makes it work ,imo, is that it doesn't split the corner (i hope that makes sense) - you want to avoid perfectly halving things and cutting at joints whenever possible. depth of field (what is in focus and what is not) is what creates interest in the second shot, along with the color and size/detail contrast. it makes the thought in the third one seemed rush - for number 3 you have a good idea, but poor composition and contrast are what really stick out.

its obvious you're a left brain thinker and have an "eye" for what you are doing. even people i know who have gone through years and years of training can't be taught that gift.

i can give you any kind of tips you want on outdoor/ enviornmental photography ... it's what I do. basically it's about spacing, subject placement, and exposure... you seem to have most of those right off the bat here - color is a new consideration, too, adding more dynamic and requiring an extra thought than black and white - and, at least in this case, you've grasped the concept of all of these

i'll add more later... don't want to make this a novel : )

what's a digital camera? man i'm so old school.

haha. nice pictures, but luvmyGen4 hit it on the head. As short as i can say it, just leave your macro mode on. your camera will still focus for regular shots in macro mode, and if you leave macro on, you are ready to shoot things up close.
