theres is nothing wrong with linkseys (sp) wireless cards. They work perfectly fine for the price they are sold at. Linkseys plug and play wireless cards work great for their price. As said with everything if you pay a cheap price for something then most likely it wont be as great as something you would have to pay high for. For example, some people in my class of plug and play linkseys wirelss cards and sometimes in class i pick up a signal when they can not. That is simply, because there card is made cheaper then mine, i have an airport extreme card, which is relatively expensive. Linkseys cards are good for what they are. D-link routers are also not bad, i have a network in my house with a d-links and it works awesome, i can go outside and work on my car and get some help from the great DIYS from CB7tuner. As for your dillemma with transfering files, you dont have a cd burner or external cd burner? you could possibly burn everything you have onto one disk. If you dont have an external cd drive, then maybe this is your oppurtunity to buy one. they are relatively cheap and easy to find and its a great excuse to buy yourself a new gift. If you dont wanna go that way, then either: create a network using a networking device such as D-links, Linkseys and other known names., get a link cord (orange cord as said before), or get a usb memory device, and/or a zip disk. All those options should help you arrive at what you need. i highly suggest the burner tho, because then you'll be able to burn cds down the road and such and cd burners always come in handy.
