Gov Officials still finding ways to stop customizing...

This is a little dated, but I hadn't heard much on it. Just the other day I got my monthly mailer from the car club and it had this info in it..

More than just the cost of the install...

Also, Boyd Coddington was fined for falsely registering all those fiberglass hot rod cars he's built over the years. Has to pull community service and all for that one.. but it's not picking up trash, just going around and telling people how to legally register kit cars.

i think that its upto the person that owns the car, if they want to replace their airbag and have tv instead, then its their choice. It may not be the right choice, but hey its a free world and people have the choice of doing what they want within reason. Gov. officials are looking for anyway to crack down on tuning cars, because the scene has become so huge and most kids are involved in tuning somehow.

    Good article tho

yea thats bullshit, if they want to pay to put a tv in their car somewhere, where it involves customizing saftey equipment, then that is t heir choice, who the fuck does the law think they are to tell ppl what they can and cannot do to their own car.

You choose to drive on state, county, and city roads, you do as they say. Just as they can enforce the speed limit, they can enforce safety violations. Do you know how much more it costs to try to save a kid who's been thrown through a windsheild as opposed to having some bruises or possibly a broken collarbone(like me)? The price of reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation as opposed to a broken nose and a few powder burns(worst case scenario)?

Safety features not only save lives, which are a little more important than you being able to watch Powerpuff Girls while you drive, but they keep our health insurance and taxes down. So shove that TV in the backseat, if you can find room back there with your six 15in subs and 12 1000W amps, I don't give a fuck.

Sorry for the hostility, not aimed at anyone in particular, just making a point.

Fuck that TV in the airbag shit, I mean woot it was cool in 2F2F and shit, but really though throw a 10in in the dash, or a motorized flip out and call it a day.

I mean, do you really need that TV in the steering wheel? Or is it just to show that you can? There are many alternatives, such as TVs (up to 8in widescreens) on your vanity visors or moving the HU to the ceiling or glovebox to put a 10in indash non motorized, or a 7" motorized flip out.

i agree that it is stupid to have a TV in viewable sight of the driver. not only is it putting the drivers life in danger by distracing him, but also the other people on the road. i sure as hell don't want someone merging into my lane and side swiping my car because they were too busy watching a movie or something in their car, which is first of all illegal.

i think they should outlaw the TV's in the front and use them how they were MEANT to be used, and that is when the car is in park. i have no problem with that. just chilling outside or in a parking lot waiting for someone, pop in a movie. thats fine, but watching while driving is like driving with your eyes closed and praying you won't hit something.

i completely agree with the officals giving fines to people..
