Snakes....yeah IDK about them. I mean, I don't hate them, but I don't like them.

Don't hate them....I just don't know anything about them. I don't have to worry about snakes where I live, but only thing I know is not to get near them. I'm a little bitch when it comes to snakes.

first off, they are NOT poisonous, mushrooms are poisonous, bees are venomous, snakes that have venom are venomous, and spiders are venomous....if it's injected into you, it's venomous.....

and secondly, 8-12 people die in the USA every year from snake bite, the same number by dogs (80,000 are hospitalized with dog bites every year though), but horses kill 100 people a year......so why worry about snakes?

and why hate them? they do a LOT more good than dogs and horses combined.....especially concerning our health.......they eat about 1/3 of the rodent population every year......you want that 1/3 to run rampant and multiply, spread diseases, etc?

the black plague was carried by, you guessed it, rodents.......could more snakes have prevented that? who knows, but it sure wouldn't have hurt......

and snakes are ridiculously fragile......we are nothing but a threat to them, they don't wanna eat us or even bite us......a lot of strikes are meant as a warning, some are meant to hurt you but they don't inject venom, some are meant to fuck you up....

snakes have very different personalities.....i've got a male timber rattler that is as easy going as they get......i honestly can't see him ever even striking at me or anyone.....but i have a 5.5ft eastern diamondback who hates humans.....very aggressive.....not because she wants to hurt anyone, but because she doesn't wanna be hurt.....

snakes are so much cleaner than mammals that it's not even funny too......very FEW diseases you can get from a snake......they don't smell unless they're musking you, trying to make it smell bad and make you leave them alone

i sleep less than 8 feet away from all my venomous snakes, and is enough venom between them at any given time to kill 100 grown men easily......my copperhead is 1" from my alarm clock......

people just don't understand them, and they condemn them for that reason.......but go ahead, kill them all and suffer an agonizing bout with the hantavirus, or another plague spread by the animals SNAKES would have eaten.....that the human way, to be so completely ignorant about something out of pure laziness that it eventually kills them

most rattlers reproduce only once every 2-3 years......so the way it's going, in 50 years, a lot will be gone from the wild.....

in areas where the snake population has declined by over 10%, the rodent population has increased by no less than 5% in a short amount of time

people get bit from snakes for being fucking morons. I've seen it. Snakes are no different than any other animal, really.

its common sense. a natural living instinct is to react when being fucked with. there is no such thing as animals holding a grudge like humans do. if you dont fuck with a snake, simple, it WONT fuck with you...

Snakes are good to eat. Texans have this snake fest thing where they cook up rattlers and stuff. BBQm friedm boiled you name it they got it. I like snake maybe its because I'm asian.

snakes have actually always been my favorite reptile or animal in general. i remember being obsessed with them as a kid.. just looking at pictures in books of king cobras and stuff. i've always wanted one as a pet, just don't know if i'll be able to feed it live mice every month. i heard you can feed them dead mice too though... did you tell me that fizz?

I have friends that own snakes, dont know what kind but they let me hold'em. I plan on owning one but i respect my mom for not allowing me untill i move out. haha Im going to show my mom this thread and see what she says.
