well DOT (department of transportation) has regulations stating that an automobile must have its own self restraining system (aka "SRS"). 90-91 accords had the automatic seat belts which was its SRS. in 92 and on, honda introduced the airbag which took the SRS title removing the automatic seat belts from the picture (thank GOD!).

btw, 92-93 SE models get a passenger-side airbag; the first of its kind (ooo ahhh!).
