My computer is acting really odd...

I think my computer is suffering from heatstroke

Out of nowhere, it occasionally stops recognizing my USB mouse. It'll work, then it won't... then a couple seconds later it'll work again. Then it'll say "found new USB device" and reinstall it. It's strange, and very annoying!

I use Avant Browser to surf, and lately that isn't showing pictures unless I right click and select "show picture"... I have no idea why. It just started to do it last night.

I need an electrician to come out and look at my breaker box (it's old and ghetto-rigged, apparently... I need a new one). My AC blows the main breaker, so I've just been dealing without it. I think my computer isn't quite as tolerant as I am! Seems like stuff might be messing up. (most of my components are fairly new)

If anyone has any ideas other than heat failure, lemme know!

my usb mouse on my laptop does the same thing, it's just not making a good connection with the port... no big deal, just wiggle it around lol

get that breaker fixed! or put a big box fan next to your case hahaha

i dont use advant browser so i don't know what to say about that.. lol

Could be a faulty power supply. Power supply failures always lead to strange, unreproduceable problems.

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

man, just today i started having the sam problems with my mouse. it wouldnt get to the point where is was asking to reinstall... but the light would just turn off and it would stop working. i'd have to reset my comp, and then it would work again like normal.

guess ill try a new power supply. ive been getting power calibration errors on my dvdrw as well.

deev, if you figure out the problem, lemme know.

That's exactly what happens with my mouse! The light goes off and it stops working... and then it starts again. No need to restart for me. Not yet anyway.

I hope it's not the power source! That thing is almost brand new! (anyone remember when I got my new ricey mercedes-esque case? yeah...)

They have cheap ones on ebay, and circuit city has antec's for reasonable prices. I have a power supply tester !!!*HOWEVER*!!! it only tells you whether it's dead or alive, it can't predict a failing supply.

Instead of a new ps try getting a good UPS. The better ones clean up the incoming power so it doesn't fluctuate.
