So while I was at work today, the mail came and there was an envelope for me in there. So I open it thinking it's a parts catalog or something and gues what it was...............

A $12,000 SPONSORSHIP FOR MY CAR!!!!!!!!

So I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet, but I figured 6-10g's is gonna go into the motor/trans. and the rest will go into the brakes/suspension/roll cage/racing goodies.

I've been in the car scene for at least 8-10 years now and it only took that long for me to get a sponsorship. I'm so freakin psyched...and I'm still in shock.......once the reality settles in I'm gonna start to order some parts

Yeah I got the same thing from sportcompactpro. They take 55% off what they call retail. Their retail is like 55% markup from ebay prices. On top of that you have to appear in 4 car shows. I paid the 75 dollar sponsorship fee and when I called on prices they said the 12000 dollar sponsorship was to cover the cost of retail. The one good thing was that there is free shipping for the first year. But hey if you are looking to get sponsored it is a good start. If you are with them they do upgrade your sponsorship after a couple years.

Most of the time your car already has to be madly tricked out/ or highly modified.. before you get any sort of money like that.. and it pretty much becomes your life there after..

Yeah, if you didn't apply directly for it, then I don't see how it's true. Most places would look for a history of success in either show or race before throwing money at you. They wouldn't want to hand you $12,000 and say "use this to make something of that heap!" If they do, they're pretty dumb... lucky for you, stupid for them!

It really sounds similar to the sponsorship deal I have in my sig... you pay a small amount ($89 in my case) and they throw sponsorships at you. So far, I've gotten sponsorship offers from Decalkits, StreetFX, and Blaupunkt... Not bad, and by accepting and moving forward with those I would get more, and better... but you have to start small.

The big boys don't start throwing money or parts at you unless you've already proven yourself to them one way or another. Pat, of all the people here, I think you would certainly be one have the ability to prove yourself, but as far as I know, you haven't been tearing up the tracks just yet!

the problem is pat is more motor, less show, less refined as far as interior and cosmetic, but hes a beast and the motor thing. UNFORTUNATELY< alot of companies are looking for "eye candy" cars. just my .02 cents. good luck though pat. out of curiousity, whos it from>???
