    How to loose weight?

I know most of us are guys here, but honestly anybody has any tips to loose weight?

I dont' know if I can do drastic changes, but I'm saving up for a stationary bike. In the mean time I want to know exactly what will help one loose weight.

I'm 5/7 about 190 or so. I used to be able to play basket, but I just don't have time in life right now. So Im' trying to find ways to compensate for my lack of sport. School has also limited me from any physical activity.

Reduction of carbs at dinner and light meat has been my approach. And overall, calorie count.

If I eat 2k calorie tops daily I should loose weight right?

ANy ideas or help? I drink but only on ocassion or on fridays, I'll have a few, but I don't smoke.
    hahahahah

It's all about exercise and staying away from fast food. Get out there and run, do push-ups, sit-ups,......etc

Its just like bracer said, you just have to do alot of cardio (i prefer jogging) and follow a strict diet.

yea, you need some form of physical activity to burn those carbs, proteins, and fats.

your calorie count is pretty good, but just remember to eat adequate and balanced meals and stick with it.

        ....and its "lose"

take out your spare tire and jack

on a more serious note, ive been trying to shape up as well too. Ive been drinking 8 glasses of water a day(reccomened amount) try to stay away from shitty foods and beer, thats a biggie, and really what i think it comes down to is making a lifestyle change and just to be more aware, I think thats where alot of people go wrong, they think that a diet is going to cut it. I go mountain biking quite a bit and I have a physical job so that helps. and why buy a stationary bike, why not a real bike so you can get out there and explore?

i do ride bikes, but for days where i finihs late, a stationary bike seems to be the best bet for me. but ill take everyones consideration.

i honeslty hardly go mcdonalds or eat junk food. i cut down on sweets, yet i guess i just need more physical activity.my metabolism is diff't from other people.

yea, i forgot to mention that. and a glass only equals 8 fl oz so its not as much as you may have thought.

also, remember to drink 8 additional fl oz of water for every 20 minutes of exercise

That headache thing is DEFINITELY true! It's hard to get motivated to excercise when the least bit of effort makes your head feel as if someone was trying to pull a pillow through one ear and out the other! Aside from combating those stupid headaches, drinking water also helps the body burn calories (someone once compared it to motor oil... it allows for more efficient operation).

As for bikes... that's a great way to do it. My girl and I each have bikes, but we are currently storing them at our respective parents' houses. We're TRYING to build a shed that will house them, but that's turning out to be quite a chore! So, if you want excercise... build a shed!

Seriously though... I need to read through this thread for some ideas (I stopped at phatty's post so I could reply...) I just crossed the 200 mark, and I'm under 6'. My girl is about as heavy as I was when we met...

try drinking ICE COLD water, the body will spend more energy iunto heating the temperature of the water.

this morning i weighed in around 137 fully clothed (5'8")
i think my scale is a bit wrong, so add like 3...lol.

the crazy thing is that i havent worked out in weeks but am losing weight AND still looking the same. ie: broad shoulders, big arms, slowly losing gut

but i'll try harder at changing my diet and exercise routine. i udnerstand that we are all diff't. some of us are blessed w/ the desired body type.

                          Waaaah??!?
Is that normal? I thought for a person of the 5'8" stature, 150-160
was good. I guess my HS health book was wrong then.

But yeah, FishyMan, eating finish will also. It is very recommended.
                          Look it up.

I was a little chubby a while ago...and this worked well for me:
I ate whatever I wanted, but in much smaller portions. So I didn't let myself get upset over not being able to have what I wanted to eat, that makes it worse. Like if I wanted a candy bar, I'd have 1/3 of it. And I exercized twice a week, going on jogs around my neighborhood.
And...if you're worried about your stomach, theres that thing called the Ab Lounge, lol. You may have seen it on T.V., but we got one..and it worked on me, and it's EASY and FUN! Only reason I used it
