    Anyone GOOD with excel?

    I need some help.

    i'm setting up a function with an if statement, i want it to format the numbers differently for different output. now i can get it to display diffrent text or numbers for different situations. but lets say.

    =IF((D13-D12)<0,D13-D12,D13-D12)

    so basically, if D13 is less than D12.
    than....
    if true. output d13-d12...but i want the number to be RED(i dunno how)

    if false, just output the number.

    how do i format the text for this?

    Go to conditional formatting under the format menu. then put in the range that you want to show up red. It will ask you "less then or greater then" then it will ask you the value to be affected unter in the value that you want numbers to start going red. Hit the format key on the conditional formatting and select red lettering or whatever format you want for the variable formatting.

    hold up....let me gather my thoughts I havnt taken this class in like a year.

      =IF((D13-D12)<0,----> if d13-d12 is less then 0.
      D13-D12, then go with
      D13-D12) if not go with

      you need to rewrite that if statement because it makes no sense

        sweet got it...didn't really even need to setup the if statement cause i'm using the same output as it would with the standard math equation output. just using the conditional formatting now. beauty, thank you!
