If no one else bids on the item I get it for $35... and if someone comes along and bids $40 my bid will trump theirs because I've already told ebay I'd go up to $200.... but what happens if the guy selling the item knows it's worth more and guesses that people set a maximum bid higher than it's at and has a "friend" bid on it to bump the prices up?
