Ok, I talked to PwrUsr last night about my computer problems, and I trust what he says... I'm just hoping against all hope that someone else I trust can tell me otherwise!
Well, 2 weeks ago I thought my motherboard died. It may have, but that's not all that's wrong. I replaced the board with basically the same thing (got a better model of the same line) I still get nothing. I then moved on to the power source... that may be the issue.
I went out and bought a new power source from CompUSA. 350w. Unfortunately, it was for a socket 775 board, and I have a socket A. So I returned it, and bought the only box under $100 for a socket A... which was, unfortunately, a 300w power supply. Now, will 300 watts be enough for my setup? I THINK I have either a 1.8ghz or a 2.1ghz Athlon XP processor... I forget exactly what I have (bought it last year, got a bait and switch pulled on me, and never bothered to figure it out).
So, 300w good? 300w not good?
Should I cough up another $35 or so and get a better unit from newegg.com?
