Without reading your post, here is my advice. Screw Apple and anything it produces. Quicktime is a peice of shit that never runs right on any machine I work on... Die....

EDIT: After reading your post, I would say maybe a new video card could help you out...

My guess would be that you have bad codecs.
I hate quicktime though, so good luck solving your problem.

You may conclude from that Quicktime is working properly --- your thread title is a bit misleading. The video you're trying to play either uses a non-standard codec you need (although Quicktime would have told you about that) or is in some other way suspect.

Try another player, particularly if you can find out for sure what kind of file it is.

Note to the misinformed haters: QT favors files based on industry accepted standards. If you don't like it, you've likely just stated your preference for a proprietary player or one that favors proprietary files. And yes, it runs well on Windows --- I can attest to that --- but give it junk and that's what you get back.

Not buying what you're selling, so shut it off. WMP plays my porno, and winamp plays my music, its all I need to live.

                Well.........

First thing i have a great Video Card , So its not that at all , Next thing is links such as the thread on here about someones exhaust tried to open it and i get sound but a greeen screen for some reason this happens alot , on files that other people dont have problems with but seems like the files wont play in any other player , it has to be something with Quicktime But ive reinstalled and everything several times even different versions of quicktime itself , Im not your average computer person i know a great deal about comps and what not is just this one thing that has been bothering me for a while and i cant seem to find the problem ... thanks again from those of you who actually said something that made sense ...

noxidea, what other players do you have? Hard to believe you need QT necessarily. That file might be mapped to QT but actually play in something else if you "tell" it to.

Could you download a different one and try that? Take a look in the usual download places (download.com, tucows.com or whatever you like) and try one you don't have perhaps.

drucifer92 --- Not a thing you mentioned disproves what I said. Quite the contrary, by the examples you gave.

So I'll "shut it off" when I damn well want to, thanks.
