dress up question

ok, so i've got a presentation in an hour, and i've decided to dress up, nice black pants, black shoes, blue button up dress shirt, and black tie. now my shirt has buttons to hold the collar down, if i'm wearing a tie should i button these or leave them open

the buttons on the shirt for the collar are to keep the collar pressed against the shirt while wearing a tie.

most of these shirts look a bit odd when worn without buttoning the collar down. in my opinion, they should always be buttoned down, regardless of whether you have a tie on or not.
