Dont know if any one's ever seen this before or not but...

Have you guys ever seen on someones cluster when the ignition is turned to the ON position, the needles top out then come back down to 0? Like on the tach, it'll go to 9 or 10 or whatever and come back down to 0.

any one ever seen that? I seen a video somewhere that a tC did it. I also noticed it on a school bus i was on, but that was a bus

I mean is it a mod of some kind? Or does the tC just do that?

I think its pretty cool, I wanna do it

It is pretty cool, a lot of the new cars do it stock. Not an easy mod, but Im sure if ya knew electronics you could either swap gauges out of something or make it work yourself.

heres a vid, apparently its called a "Gauge Sweep"

the only thing i dont like is that it does it intermittently. The tC i saw had a full sweep up and down. Any one know about this mod, if it is one?

You can get any 93+ BMW to do it; possibly earlier too.

My Legacy GT does it on all four gauges stock. There is an option to turn it off if you wish. It is called gauge sweep. I also have flourescent gauges, so all you see first is all the red needles sweeping, and then the gauge lettering turns on. Pretty cool. The legacy gauges are made by DEFI, and I know they sell aftermarket gagues by DEFI that do the same thing, but are really expensive.

Most of the DEFI gauges do it and i think most new Subaru WRX's do it also i think maybe they do it to calibrate themselves

                          I have an easy solution.

Go buy a new Lexus IS 250 or 350. They do it, plus no swapping clusters or soldering required.

You can also buy the Legacy GT, cheaper, AWD, and it also does it OEM. I don't think you'll ever see this type of technology on any aftermarket parts for CB7's. Just too expensive IMHO.
