gonna start my stock replacement (f22a6, i have an A4) engine swap. it is new and straight fromt he factory.
my mods to it:
filled in engine mounts
12-13 lb flywheel
bored out TB
A6 manifold and ECU
external coil (msd)
larger diameter intake
full exhaust system
so far, ive taken pictures of all the wiring/vacuum lines, cleaned manifold and started to memorize the DIY.
im just getting myself siked for the job because ill probably be working by myself with some help of friends and family.
got some air tools (need to buy quick connect fittings)
and it consists of impact gun and air ratchet so far
i guess ill upload some pics...
engine has 220,700 miles...run really clean, not sure why im changing it out....lol
stock tranny
sick ass lotus i saw today
As for the whole debate on "why are you chaning out the engine when your's runs fine???"
i gues it is just to gain the experoience...my parents bought it for me so i guess why not?
i guess it is also to gain back a sense of reliability in the car, i dont even know when the last timing belt was changed nor does my unlce know (previous owner)
so why not start on a clean slate?
after this swap, ill have a new engine, new brake system, new suspension, mint interior, clean body and new paint
the hopes are high for this car and ill enjoy doing this swap.
thanks guys

Must be cool!
I didn't realize that you could buy the older models in brand new condition...
