    Hit & Run

My car got hit today at the Exxon by my apartment. I ran in to get an energy drink and a snack to bring back to work with me (I work 4 hours then get a 1 hour lunch. After my lunch I work 7 hours without a break so....). I come out and my driver side door is in a "V" shape and my window is sitting on the ground (THANK GOD FOR TINTED GLASS). Guy was no where to be found....

Filed a Police report for hit and run and filed the claim with my insurance. Car is in the body shop getting fixed but they said it'll be out for a week . Now I'm driving a Cobalt rental .

    Pictures now:

I think the new Cobalt is the default rental car. Actually I'd be fine if only rental companies bought them.

hmm, this must be a new trend. I noticed a few weeks ago while washing my car that someone had bumped into my rear bumper. There are some scuff marks and I can tell where it was stressed on top from being hit. I was not a happy camper. It could of been worse, but it really pissed me off because this bumper is only 5 or so years old. It was hit barely a year after I first bought the car. So the bumper was pristine before this latest episode.

When I put the pics up you guys are going to freak. I'll have them up tonight sometime. I brought the digital camera to work to show my boss (to prove to him why I missed 4 hours of work) then left it there! *doh*

my car is pretty fucking scratched up from dickheads in parking lots, both bumpers are scratched to shit, front drivers side fender has a nice dent in it. all this happened with the previous owner. i never park in busy areas.. too many stupid people.

Looks like a big suv or a truck hit it, the hit looks too high for a regular car to me. Maybe thats some clue to who did it.

Yeah it was a full size Chevy Silverado (1500 series) 4x4 with a big tow hitch. I noticed it when I went in the store but didn't look at the plate as I had no idea he was going to hit my car! There is a guy that lives in the apartment across from me that looks similar to the truck and what do you know.... has a tow hitch. I looked last night to see if I could see any flakes of my paint on the hitch but it was too dark. His truck is not there right now.

The car is already in the shop and is already being worked on. I have uninsured driver on my policy so if they don't find him it goes on that.

The pictures look like it could be from a ladder too. That's a pretty hard hit tho. Lift kit>reciever hitch makes more sense. Until I saw the pictures I was afraid it was the 93' your selling that was hit.
It really is a labor of love making a neglected CB7 with "normal wear and tear" into something worth being proud of.

he probably knew he hit your car and drove off anyways. it's not like that is a small tap or anything. that's a hard hit.
