Drive better after playing video games?

    Anyone else noticed this?

After playing Forza for hours and hours on end, in high speed cars, low speed cars, just all kinds of cars.. I actually drive better in real life.. I take turns better and have improved my car control and also worked on accelerator control.

Now this probably won't work with all games since Forza is a driving simulator and games like GTA aren't.. But I am definately a better driver for playing it.

If I had the steering wheel and pedal set for the XBOX I might even be a better driver than I am just using the standard controller.

I honestly dont think that I would know how a car would handle in certain situations without playing NFS 3 Hot Pursuit before I got my lisence.

I can say with certainty that GT3 improved my driving ability substantially. Of course it can only do so much in simulating driving. There's a link to a top gear episode somewhere in here where he tries to match his gt4 time with his real life time.

To those who have seen it, let me say...How can you even say you've played gt4 if you're using a controller if you don't have the driving force gt4 wheel you're wasting your time

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

but yeh after playing alot of simulation driving games i feel it's helped some driving skills(many hours playing GT3 and fornza) .. slow in fast out, take turns form outside to inside .. ..

---- the old atari arcade game "Hard Driving" aka "Race Driving" i learned how to drive stick playing that game countless times at the local nickel arcade back in the day.. it was awesome.. u had to hold the clutch down to start the car.. and ease the gas to take off or you'd stall .. damn i want that machine in my room

Initial D is only worth playing if you have the arcade machine. Don't get any of the console or pc versions. trust me, they are the suck.

I wish I had the steering wheel and pedal set for the XBOX. I have only seen it once or twice and it was like $70..

Ridge Racer type 4 for playstation one..miss that game, but yeah I think the point of this thread is true coz I think it aligns our brain to be more careful in real life for we have seen every single scenario that can happen to you through simulation.

i did a paper in public speaking on how GT4 helps your driving out.

-You do become more aware of the surroundings around you when you leave your house

-GT4 also teaches the physics of driving... Lantis yeah i agree with you on this one... all video racing/first person shooting games help your hand eye coordination

-you become more aware of how you use your brakes before turns

yeah Gt4 cant do everything like give the feeling of lateral G's or even cause your body to release adrenaline like driving irl ... just like the top gear comparison with the NSXs... but its the closest driving simulator out for the home console
