I remember a guy on H-T took a boot off his Civic or something like that and left the boot attached to the wheel in the parking lot. He siad the boot pulls back a tad... just enough to get the stock L lug wrench in and get the lugs off. Popped the spare on and pulled off.

When you get your tire off or free from the boot, take the boot with you.

You can always sell it as scrap metal and make a few bucks, and it will cost them a bunch of money to buy a new one. Then they won't be so keen to just go slap it on every car they can.

well they put it on your car. and possession is 9/10s of the law, so obviously they wanted you to have it. so it's yours. and they can't prove you stole it if you don't have it. sell it to a scrapyard and that way if they say you stole it, say "no I took it off and left it laying there, someone must have picked it up".. cause alot of homeless people will pick stuff like that up and sell it for scrap.

                    Here's the H-T story...

                    On the car.....

                    Off the car....

I search the net for a good couple of hours not really finding what I needed. I didnt even know what the damn thing was called so at about 1:30 a.m. I got my ass up and took a pencil and paper over there to get a better look at the damn thing and write some info down about it. (When I first discovered it on there I was so pissed I just left and didnt even inspect it) I wrote down a few things like the name of it, ect...

Then I wanted to get a good look at the rod that went through the tire. I looked at the inside of the wheel and noticed there wasnt a rod that went through at all...just a hook that grabbed the inside of the rim. SWEET!!! or so I thouhgt. I reach around and grap that big circular pad and pulled it back a bit, and it felt like it could just slip right off...no go, almost, but no matter how hard I pulled the shit it wouldnt budge!

BUT...i had an idea. I needed a buddy to help.

I could pull the pad away just far enough to get OEM lug wrench in there and unbolt the rim from the hub!!!! TAH DAH!!!!!!

threw the spare on and said PEACE BEEATCH!
                    Also.. here's another pic:

here's another question...if I were to remove the lock myself with a socket and wrench (looking at it, i think it's a half inch)...would it be considered destruction of property since I'm tampering with it?
