Yeah, you read it correctly. I didn't die or anything.. and I didn't go to another web board or anything.
I've been trying to get a move on with my life as fast as possible so I can make more money and get to the spot where I want to be. I start a new job today working for T-Mobile and the pay is going to be MUCH better since I have my degree now.. always helps to have one of those, haha.
Let me tell you my life has flipped upside down since the last time I posted here. As most of you know, I did buy the Lexus IS300 and have been more than impressed with it. I don't really miss my CB7 that much, except when kids rag and brag talking about how much bodywork their bondo princess has and so on.
Christmas time my parents came down to visit and I had the time of my life being off school and just having the time to go out and drink, party, and have fun with no school work or anything. I used to drive after I drank a little bit, sometimes even after I KNEW I shouldn't.. but I still did. Ever since Christmas, I've had so many wake up calls and life changing events that I wish I could go back and change.
Event One: January 3rd, 2006 - I get a call from my dad and he sounds normal, which didn't suprise me at all or anything.. well this is 2 days after they had driven home to Ohio from visiting me here in Florida. He tells me my mom is in the hospital. She is on a medication to slow her heart down since she has had a higher heart beat in the past few years. Well, she is on some other kind of med which I'm not sure what it is.. and those two mixed together slowing her heart down so much where she was pretty much 'drunk'. She didn't remember waking up or anything.. didn't remember driving to work, nothing.. on the way to work she was in both lanes of traffic going head on with other cars; went off the road about 5 times hitting bushes and mail boxes, and finally when she went to work, she hit her friends car doing damage to both of them. She then passed out and was rushed to the hospital and was fine a few days later.
Event Two: My buddy Steve took me out to this bar we always go to on Wednesday nights and it was my turn to drink so he drove. He has a 2000 Toyota Celica, lowered on 18's, lambo doors, pretty much a ricer car but looks good. He had 2 beers within the 3.5 hours we were there and I had a LOT. He was fine to drive since 2 beers does nothing to him.. well we left and he swerved a little while putting his belt on and the cop pulled him over. He did the field sobriety test and what not.. and they failed him since he coulnd't say his ABC's backwards. He was taken downtown and blew a .022, which .080 or higher is legally imparied. So, they let him go the next morning with nothing. We have had to go to court 3 times, and 2 more left to go.. costing us money from taking off work, hiring the attorney.. just a big dilemma. Another reason why I don't drink and drive.. they try to royally fuck you over.
Event Three: Saturday night - February 25th I was washing my car outside just like I always would. I heard my friend Jessica had gotten in a wreck that night but no one knew how she was. So while on the phone with my friend he lets me know the girl is in critical condition at the hospital, had to have 40 something stiches in her face, broken bones, and such.. but she was alive so that was good. The bad news was, her best friend Laura, which was another good friend of ours didn't make it out of the wreck. She died at the age of 19. She was such a beautiful girl, it really hit me hard. You're not supposed to watch your friends and siblings get burried.. it's too early. She's in a better place now I know this, but we miss her every day. Not sure whats going to happen to the driver yet, they're still investigating.
Some other small things have happened that just made me grow up and realize we only live once and things can happen in a matter of minutes. Even though the events have been bad, it has made me a better person and I treat people with a completely different world of respect knowing they could not be there tomorrow.
I started a new job which pays pretty good for a college student. I'm pulling in about $3,900 a month which isn't too bad. I should have the Lexus paid off here in about 6 months or so.. and yes, it's still stock! :
I'm still not going to be around here as much due to finals, school, work.. and my normal life. I hope to hear from some of you guys.. I do miss the old times.
Cpmike doing his h22 swap two years ago, '93accordse and I talking all the time about body work and such.. times have changed but it's good to see the same old people around here.
Yes, I'm still alive.
