tryin to install a deck, is there a way i can just test the headunit, maybe putting the red an black on the battery? cause the wires are not color coded inside the car so it's difficult to test

yea you can do that..sometimes you have to hold the yellow wire to the battery too.

yea, i'd say put the red/yellow wires together to +12v, the black to ground, and you should be good. in all my experiences, the yellow has been a constant 12v, the red is a signal from the ignition, and black is obviously ground
