    Saying goodbye to my system

I decided that it's best that I take out my system.
I could use the extra cash and the reduced weight (the system adds quite a bit). I may throw in a 10, but I haven't decided yet.
I'll be most likely taking it out tomorrow night.
    Here's a pic of the sub (15)

The sub, sub amp, and box will be coming out. The box took up my whole trunk.

THats pretty big. I had a box at one point. Took it out of my last car, and never put it in this car. The bass is fun sometimes, but the benefits of a large trunk and not hauling around all that extra weight all the time outweighs it by a bunch.

Damn that is a big box!!! I have two 10s in a sealed box. It actually doesn't take up that much space. I know it could sound better with a bigger box, but I can't take up any more room. I have just enough for groceries and crap.

It would be nice to have that space back and the reduced weight, but man I can't live without my bass!!! I miss it when I don't have it.

I've been running a huge ass box with two 12" subs in it for two years now... I've always been tempted to get rid of them and throw in a 10" sub or something for reduced weight..but I always forget the idea because I love my system too much.. i guess you just have to decide what you like better.. a booming system or a little bit more speed..

I love the bass and will miss it, but since I have future plans for this car (performance wise), the weight is just going to hold the car back.

I'm going to weigh everything later and see what it totals to.

1 ten can hit hard. you need to wire it right to the right amp

I'm really mulling over removing my system as well. But it's gonna mess up my drop...

I took my system out once to get some work done, and the car felt so much better...the rear end was a lot lighter and the car was noticeably peppier as well. The only thing I hated was my rear end was a good inch higher. I might have to cut a coil back there to even it out when I go through with it.

Yo- for anyone thinking of ditching their subs but wanting to keep some bass, I've heard that CDT CL-69 6x9s are good. They're 6x9's with no tweeter so they're dedicated midbasses, and they go pretty low into the bass frequency band. Best part is, they're about $100 on most websites. I think I'm gonna get these soon.

I'll take pics of it soon and post em.
I'll also be weighing the stuff to see how much I took out.

Total weight taken out is around 175lbs.
That includes sub, sub box, amp, 2nd battery, and little things here and there.
