    100th post

Didn't know if anyone really cares or has ever done this, but if what i heard is correct, then my 100th post makes me a member, if it does, and i am, i'll be happy for a bit. This site means alot to me and has helped me with quite a number of things i probably would've had a much harder time finding/doing on my own. Thanks Deev....

How did I know somebody was gonna fuckin' do this. It's ONLY AN INTERNET FORUM. NOT a "brotherhood" or a "family" or some fuckin' shit like that. Like Ricky said once, and I quote, "this is a digital corkboard" that people post shit back and forth to one another on.

You can like this place, sure, and that's fine... but when you're a brand-fuckin'-new member, and the site has over 6400 already, it's fuckin' rediculous to try and make a big event out of your 100th post. In fact, making a big event about your 100th, 1,000th or 1,000,000th post is dumb as hell...even if you're only the 4th member, who fucking cares?!

                IT'S JUST AN INTERNET FORUM.

lol, things never change......a real member contributes and is a real member regardless of post count......i've got 1xx posts showing but in reality i've got around 8000, but who cares......i still have an average size dick and even 10,000 posts won't make a difference
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

I dunno... I swear mine has gotten bigger since I hit 8000...

I have to agree and disagree with what people have said here. Yes, it's a digital corkboard. It's a forum where we can ask questions about our cars, look at pretty pictures of other people's cars, and buy stuff for our cars... The board itself is just that... a web board.

However, the people on this board mean a lot to me. Some more than others, obviously. But because of this digital corkboard, I've made many real friends. People I call when I need help. People I know will be there for me should I need anything. If my house burned down tomorrow, and I had no place to stay, I could probably count on at least a dozen members of this board to open their door to me without hesitation. That's not simply a digital corkboard. That's something a little more meaningful.

Hell, even the people I never met still have some meaning to me. I know a bit about fizz's family, and when I ask about his kids, I'm actually interested. uncle_el completed med school and is now a doctor. I thought that was cool, and I respect him greatly for his accomplishments. BustedLX hasn't been around for a long time. I have no idea what happened to him. I'm genuinely concerned... and it has nothing to do with losing a good moderator. Take the time to know the people, and to give a damn, and you'll see there's more to it than idle chitchat about cars.

Not to say that by being a member of cb7tuner.com that you're part of a "brotherhood"... but there is definitely something deeper running through this forum. To act like the existance of the people here stops with their posts and their screen name is fairly narrow minded.

At least you broke it down properly. What you said makes sense...but to make a deal out of something that is simply just some electronic code living on a drive in a server someplace, and has no other consequence, is fucking stupid. A digital corkboard is still a digital corkboard and will never be anything else... but the people you meet on it can be anything.

Still, the connection to those people is valuable. To act as if nothing is real until you meet in person is stupid. Someone who says "who cares, it's just the internet!" is just as bad as someone who thinks they're badass when they act like an e-thug.

I can talk to you in person, on the phone, in a letter, or on the internet. Either way, we're communicating. Just because I don't see your face or hear your voice doesn't mean our communication is any less real.

Granted, someone who has barely been around can't possibly feel the attachment that the oldschool people do... untill they themselves become oldschool. But this has become more than a random message board. People have lives, personalities, and history on this board.
