    **help** signing over car title

well i have no excuse other than im a forgetful piece of shit... but im finally gona send out the title to ben. anyways, quick question before i lick the envelope.

on the title, below where i sign it, it says "printed name of agent signing for a company"... do i leave this blank since i am the owner and there isnt a lien holder?

and also, on the very bottom, there is an 'X', reading: "signature releases interest in vehicle(company names must be countersigned)"

do i sign that as well? or is that also for a bank?

Pink slips can look different depending on what state they're from. I just had to do this and the website for dmv helped out. The seller signs in only 1 spot in California and dates the signature. I believe this is on line 1. This is ofcourse assuming there are no banks or liens involved with the vehicle. Other than that I don't believe you have to do anything else. The buyer has to deal with more writing. Please double check.

    ...adjust accordingly

go to your DMV and get a Release of Liability form. Which does exactly what it says....

You need to realize, it's your car until someone else registers it.

Release of Liability will keep you in the clear

all the other paperwork is done. i was just waiting on the title to get mailed to me when we went to the dmv. everything is done. all i need to do is hand over the title so the car can be registered for '07 in arizona.

yeah i just did this with my cb7. you just sign on line 1 and date it. also, fill out the release of interest form that should be attached to the bottom of the title. send that in to the DMV.
