this is exactly my point... people do put lips on for looks and then turn around and make fun of kitted cars because body kits and paint are completely useless (in the racing world anyway). i just cant stand it.

Can we let the rice thing go already???

We're all ricers to rustang and camaro guys...
I dunno why people split hairs when it comes to bodykits and looks stuff... other things like exhausts and slammed suspensions are looked upon as rice by the outside world...

So quit the petty bickering and the I'm better than you crap... this is what fucks up the import world ya know... just let everybody do their own thang in peace... otherwise all our cars would look the same and that would be blah...don't cha think?

And to stir the shit in the pot a little... JDM is teh new rice....that's a fact...

it was cool 2-3 years ago when all the shit was rare... but not so much now that everybody has it or is getting it...sorry...

and the heart of my car is more jdm than any you foo's no matta what you put on your car...so stfu...

I'd have to agree...everyone on the outside syas, "Rice!" when I tell them I have a Honda. They autcomatically assume I'm going to paint it pink and put a gayy-ass spoiler on it.

And if I'm a ricer (look at picture sof my car), then people who drive a stand or Camero are rednecks...

Wow. Double hipocricy there. You say "can we let the rice think go" and then you go to say that JDM is the new rice. Also you say to "quit petty bickering and the I'm better than you crap" and then you say "the heart of my car is more JDM than any of you foo's no matta what you put on your car." Wow. I can't believe I read that.

As for JDM being the new rice, I'm in total disagreement. I definitely think my 1 piece headlights look a lot better than my previous headlights, and I paid more for them than what I would've paid for a set of TYC projectors. Why? Because projectors are harsh.

You need to come off your high horse there. It's nice that you have an F20 in your car. But honestly, who fucking cares. Anybody who puts "jdm" parts on their car to brag about them is just fricking silly. That is all I can see this motor being. All the effort and money to drop in an F20, when an H22 would've been easier and provided more power. So why would you do the F20? Because you want to be more JDM. Thats ridiculous. That would be in the same boat as someone with an H22 in their car frowning on someone getting a CAI for their F22. Instead of supporting the buying of the CAI, they just say "that's rice, I'm faster, and anything less than what I have is inferior." High horse buddy, please realize it's not even there.

I think it's good to discuss what is rice and what is not... If everyone gets on the same page about it, then there will be less fighting. Notice how no one came in here and flat out said "body kits are rice"?

I say rice is anything that has been added to a car that doesn't properly perform in the manner it's supposed to. For example, if you're putting a carbon fiber overlay on your stock hood or the purpose of weight reduction, then that is rice. If you do the same for looks, and it looks good, then that's not rice. Appearance is often the main target for rice calling, because what looks good to one person may not look good to another.

Anyone who calls rice on someone just because they don't like the style (clean vs. kitted) is just an idiot.

Of course, I'd be the first to call rice on a car with a 3 color body kit, more stickers than miles on the car, exteremely lowered on cut springs and stock shocks, 14" chrome spinnaz, Circuit City 3" neon stuck to the front grill, and a wing taller than the roof of the car... With such an exhibit of bad taste, it would be hard not to laugh! I don't think anyone on here is like that though.

              Here's a good definition:

If my grandma thinks your car looks stupid, then it's rice.

<sigh> you always have to pick a fight with me eh? In case you didn't notice I was being sarcastic...lighten the fuck up and try and see the humor when it's blaringly obvious...

My point was that my particular motor was more technichally JDM correct as far as Japanese CB's go... a JDM H22 doesn't make you JDM...whatever the fuck that is...but that's a whole other arguement... I was merely trying to lighten the mood with some humor...

You yourself are being a hippocrit and need to come off your high horse way more than I do...since first off I see you calling shit rice in alot of threads...who made you the judge and jury, imposing your opinion on others and making them feel bad...

secondly, you think your 1 piece headlights are better because you paid more? Sounds like ricer logic to me...$$$=better

third, keep your H22 envy to yourself and don't lay it on me... I didn't buy my F20A to be JDM or because it was JDM... I don't see how it would've been any easier or harder for that matter to swap whatever motor in there... your arguement makes no sense whatsoever and your inexperience really shines through with that comment...I don't think you fully understand which F20 you are talking about here... read up a little... I spent less on this motor than most people buy and sell F22A sohc's for...

I do think you proved my next point in spades though... JDM is the new rice because people buy JDM parts and think they are sooooo much cooler than everyone else and feel it's OK to down others because they themselves are "JDM" and someone else is not...you need to cut others down to build yourself up...sounds like the mentality of the late 90's when bodykits and big rims were cool and stock looking cars sucked...if you didn't have a kit and rims you weren't kewl...

Ricers mod their cars to be accepted by others...they are lemmings that follow trends and they feel the need to chastise anyone who isn't like them...it's the lack of diversity & open mindedness to others' tastes in the ricer's mind that make them so goddamn annoying...

I think the true deinition of a ricer is anyone who buys parts (JDM or bodykits) and thinks it makes them somehow cooler or smarter than someone without that part...

instead of just buying what you like and being happy with it... and being tolerant of others' differing styles...

To slateboy: Take your own advice when you feel like throwing in your opinion next time...

this thread went to crap quick.

everybody has their own opinions about what looks good on a car.

everybody has their own opinions about what they think "rice" means.

just leave it alone and quit bashing on other people's cars if they dont look good in your opinion. for every car that you find ugly, im sure theres another person out there that thinks YOURS is ugly.

                  so let it be.
