I just got the automatic update for it but I'm affraid to install it cause I don't have a genuine copy of windows. Will I still be able to install?

windows will check if you have a genuine windows xp...

and i dont use too often, i use firefox

they caught up with firefox 1.5. sorta.

firefox 2.0 has lots of features that IE doesnt have.

im still running on 1.5, duno if i wana upgrade to 2.0. everytime i upgrade, something gets screwed up.

i was worried about that, so i just downloaded firefox 2.0, instead of upgrading, and saved it as firefox2, and it ended up working fine, and if it didnt, i wouldnt have lost anything from 1.5

It's teh suxors. Firefox is MUCH better. IE is slow and a waste of time. Firefox take a bit to load, but is quick when it's open. IE is just slow all the time. ANd it DOES check for a genuine copy of Windows, so I don't think you should install it if you don't lol.

No, it is most definitely released in a final form now.

I'd wait to upgrade to 7 until a decent majority of the internet programs have integrated the right support for it. Some online programs I use for school simply don't work with IE7, but also don't work with Firefox ... So IE6 is the way to stay for now.

Firefox is still MUCH better though. Plug-ins and integration, not to mention themes and the tools, are all top-notch and most importantly, free. Not to say that IE7 isn't free, just that usually you have to have a copy of windows to run it. And no, I'm not interested in anything anybody has to say otherwise about it. I don't care if it does/doesn't work on (insert operating system here) and it's not microsoft. [/offtopic]
