you want mine? ill give it to you real cheap.

there is a few things wrong with it though...

bent rod, bent valves, broken ring lands. just normal wear and tear stuff

on a more serious note: how much is the guy asking for it, and what is included?

Looks like he's asking what a reasonable price would be for HIM to sell, not looking for a reasonable price to buy one.

B18C#? That number can make a difference in the thousands! Also, what's the mileage? A babied motor with 150k isn't nearly as good as a babied motor with 50k.

no i was thinking about selling my b18c1 and tranny and dropping an h22 w/ hasport mounts and hydro tranny in maybe over the summer in the GSR, and i was wondering what you think might be a good price to ask for the motor/tranny or both at once

my typeR motor was only $4300 from hmotorsonline, 17,000 miles. a b18c1 with 100k+ shouldnt go for more than $2500.

The B19C1 is the H23 of the B series Good motor, but there's one pretty significant step above it.

In good shape, yeah... $1000 most likely. MAYBE $1500 if you find the right buyer. With the K series becoming a possibility for many people now, the B series prices will be dropping... as well as the demand.

B19C1? surely you just had a typo. (that I just HAD to quote and point out.)

anyways, I totally agree, with the B18C5 above it, the B18C1 is pretty much on par with the H23. . . or is it. One could say that its on par with the normal H22a, since The H22a-S and H22a-EuroR are similar steps above the H22a. However, this thread is not really about that discussion.

I think the MOST I would ever pay for a B18C1 (motor only) is 1250.

is there something wrong with your current motor? if your going to spend money on a new motor, you should consider doing the poor mans ITR.

b16 head, CTR cams and pistons, etc etc

no, nothing is wrong, it was just an idea for a project to drop a jdm h22 on hasport mounts in the gsr. i dislike the lack of torque from the b series more than having a less "rev happy" motor like the h22. b18c1 has about 170 hp, and 121 trq, where the jdm h22 has about 200hp and 161 trq. basically the h22 has about the same hp as the type r, but + 30 trq and costs a lot less, even if it doesnt rev nearly as high or vtec doesnt hit quite as hard

well..if you understand how horsepower and torque relate, you would realize why the Integra doesnt need as much torque...and no, it has nothing to do with weight.

with the H22 you have to deal with the shitty axle issue, shift linkages, a snug fit, motor mounts, etc etc. in the end, it will probably cost just as much as a built B-series, and be slower.

not to mention the extra 80lbs up front, disturbing the fantastic balance iv found the integra to have

i do understand how torque and hp relate, and im not saying the integra needs torque

but i would like a new tranny, and the type r motor, tranny, ecu etc, is about $4000, and the motor, tranny, ecu, mounts, axels, etc. for the h22 is about $2700.

i know the issues in swapping an h series into a teg, but ive seen an h22 been placed in an itr when it blew the motor, and the owner at the meet said he thought it was def worth it. he said he loved the amount of torque it made, however vtec hit no where near as hard, and he missed running higher rpms

ive always liked having the hp as close to the amount of torque as possible

its just my preference and i wasnt judging the type r motor in anyway, i just prefer torque over hp
