    Got Ripped off

I sold a 1991 Accord Ex to a friend on payments of $200 a week. By the way i sold him the Accord for $2000 and the motor was rebuilt. About two weeks after he got it the blower motor went out! Ok so i said i would put it in if he bought one. it has been six weeks and he has not got the blower motor.

When he started paying me, he only paid me $100 a week that was ok a least he was paying me something. Then he calls me last week and said he would not be able to pay me for three weeks. so i told his if this went on for a mounth i was going to take back the car. He said "well ok". So i call his last night and ask him if he is going to pay me this week and he said "he just traded the car last saturday to a dealer ship and got a lease on a Chevy Aveo . So i asked his who he sold the car to and he told me and i told his that i was going to call the Dealership and let them know that the car had a lien on it and that Jay stilled owed me $1000 on the car. When i called the dealership they told me that Jay said the title was "free and clear" . By the way they only gave him $100 on the trade in. (Jay the guy i am talking about just turned 19 years old and got married to the girl that he got pregent, and he cannot hold a job to save his life so i was doing him a favor and selling him this car)

Has anybody ever got screwed in a car deal

Eh well, at least the joke's on him for leasing an Aveo.

Did you put this payment plan into writing and have him sign a contract of some sort? If so you could take him to small claims. I sure as hell would, that's $1900 he screwed you out of. And yes, very ironic (and funny) that he got a whole $100 for the trade in.

You did it to yourself dude, if you're the title holder he can't do shit. You should've made him sign an agreement with your names, the date, the details of the payment agreement, etc.

Lien is a legal term, you can't just invent one. Unless you registered the lien (with proof!), you're toast.

we sign a contract and we put what he is spossed to pay in the contract. I took the contract to the dealer that he traded it in to and they gave me the keys & title (sign over in my name) and said that they are going to get the $100 + other fees from Jay (the kid i sold the car to) they said he would not be haveing the new aveo he is driving very much longer if he cann't pay all the fees upfront.

The way they were talking it would be about $1500 in fees that the kid would have to pay. I figure they are charging him title fees the price of the car and a whole lot of other crap.
