    Its funny you post this,
I was thinkin about it earlier. But yes I quit about 2 1/2 weeks ago -
still holdin strong, what helps me is thinking about how i smelled, yellowing on my teeth and fingers , not to mention health risks.
What i aslo find funny is where usually your tempted to smoke when your hangin with people smoking.. this made me stronger, thinkin about it just being a fix to me.

Ive tried quitting time and time again before, this is the most successful so far.
Dont be surprised if it doesnt work for you this time, I read/heard somewhere that a smoker tries quitting on an average of 8x before actually being successful.

    Be Strong and Good Luck!

if you like some photographic motivation, i can post a photo of a cancer i found when examining a new patient to my office. he is in his 50s and had been smoking since his teens. sad to say, his prognosis for 5 years is very poor.

hearing it is one thing, seeing the photo is another.

as for me, seeing it in person and then having to tell my patient of his condition... i didn't know how to word it. how do you tell someone he's going to die?

            *sigh*

I don't understand how someone cannot quit. They just dont need to by any etc. I was told if they stop they will get all pissy and crap but i think thats BS. Ive like smoked 2 cigs before and a puff and i think its totally sick. It smells like shit and my fingers smell like shit even your breath. I think its just nasty but yet people still smoke.

                O well

                      Re: quit smoking......

I am currently a smoker wanting to quit.
I have tried many times before and am planning on doing so very soon. I just need to find a weekend where I can clean my apartment head to toe. They say the best way to quit smoking is...
Clean your car entirely. The smell of smoke is most abundant in your car. Without the smell of smoke in your car the less craving while driving.
Clean your house, if you smoke in your house. Vacuum with carpet cleaner. Clean your couch. Dust everything you own. Especially clean your vents. The vents blow a lot of smoke smell.
Also. You might want to occupy yourself. If you are having a craving, find something that is time consuming and demands your full attention. Do that project until the craving goes away.

Smoking is the hardest thing you will EVER quit! If you don't smoke already, you have no room to say anything about somebody trying to quit. The self satisfaction of quiting though, is more gratifying than a million packs of cigarettes. I promise.

Sure, but just to play devil's advocate.. Marijuana has more tar than cigarettes. So if you smoke daily, then isn't that damaging to your lungs as well?

If you inhale particles into your lungs on a daily basis over the course of years, that is sure to spell trouble down the road, and even possibly cancer.

and no studies can link marijuana with cancer, they've tried.....the tar is a different type of tar, and they have no NICOTINE...that's what's so bad in cigarettes......it's almost as bad as caffeine

but good luck, it's hard to do....my dad did it a few years ago and went from 230 or so to over 300.......just don't eat constantly and GET SOME EXERCISE, you'll feel so much better.....your alveoli will thank you
thanks dude, saves me the typing. everything he just said.

iight also cig smoke is 10x less cancerous than a joint, not to mention blunts, because of the toxins in weed. Also on the quiting smoking tip i found that it's better to spread it out and not go cold turkey. limit yourself to maybe like a pack a week or like 4 or five a day which ever suits you best. then cut back from there but i wouldn't recommend going cold turkey all at once.
