Looks like the CB7 will be parked for most of the summer while I save for a rebuild. I can go forged, but it won't be quick. I don't dare drive that anymore though...

        whos there?

good luck with the future project mike, it sucks to have damage put a good car to rest. i guess its the push you needed to make the H-build finally start happening, whenever that will be.

what are your plans for it?

When's the last time you paid attention to your oil?

When you drive an H22 hard you can never check the oil too much. Even the healthiest ones burn off some oil when you beat on it. All it takes is a few seconds of starvation when you're screaming up those revs, even if oil pressure is good at rest. Relying on the stupid red oil light is a terrible idea. Real oil pres. guage + frequent oil checks is the only way to go.

Hope it wasn't that... the most easily preventable but serious problem.

I'm not going anywhere The car may need to parked for a while, but it'll be back. I have too much love for it to give up!

I just checked the oil, and it was low. Just below the lower hole. I knew I had a slight leak, but it's never been noticable between changes!

It's either the over-revving that I did last spring finally manifesting itself, or the fact that the oil is so low (or a combination of the two)... My own fault, I know.

I might change the oil and see if it helps anything. The damage is probably done, though.
