Monday i put all of my hours in the computer for the whole week at work. After everybody puts in their hours then the branch manager has to go in and approve them. Today i went back and looked at my hours for the week and they were a little off. i was scheduled to work today from 12-7 but my manager changed it to 12-6, without telling me. tomorrow i am scheduled to work from 10-6, which is what i put in the computer, which is what i always work on saturdays and sundays. my manager changed it to 10-5, without telling me. it might not seem like much but if you add up 1 hour per day of not being paid for 2 weeks, that is 14 hours that i wont get paid for. if i didnt go back and look at it again i would have worked and not gotten paid for sometime that i was actually at work. what should i do?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say you're "putting in your hours".
Who makes your work schedule?
Where did the shifts/hours that you're inputting come from?2003 Maxima SE Titanium Edition

at my job you dont have to 'clock in/clock out'. ours is done by computer. put in you password and your username and you can look at all of your worked hours history. so if i wanted to put in my hours for the whole week on friday afternoon, i could.Originally posted by SteveBI'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say you're "putting in your hours".

Still not clear what exactly you're inputting, if (assuming) the assistant manager makes the schedule ahead of time, and each of your shifts is automatically clocked in and out by computer...
*Just re-read initial post*
Ahhh. So your manager is "hour shaving" your schedule on the fly.
You need to first talk to the assistant manager, because his schedule is being changed, maybe with his knowledge, maybe not. Now, having said that, maybe he can't make a schedule to save his life, and has too much shift overlap.
Will those shaved hours create any issues for the workplace, other than an unhappy guy when he gets his pay stub?2003 Maxima SE Titanium Edition

Are you inputting times for which you WANT to work..
Or are these hours that you DID work.
Did you work from 12-7 on one day, and are only going to end up getting paid for 12-6?
You need to talk to the manager/asst manager, and see whats up if you are only getting paid for less than you worked. If its a matter of the scheduling, then just speak to the manager, and see if he could try to keep some of those hours for you next round. If you guys are slow, he is just doing his job, and making sure he doesnt have too many employees standing around.

Inputting your scheduled hours sounds like the asst. managers job since he does the schedule.Originally posted by 90_cb7im putting the times that i am scheduled to work which i have no problem doing.

I think you should start printing it off after it's been "approved" or whatever.2003 Maxima SE Titanium Edition

i know how you feel i work for your stereotypical penny pinchers.i think its more than just a coincidence that the family that owns the business are jewish. but the guy tells me that after he gave me a shitty 50 cent raise after a year he's like "I'll give you all the hours you can handle." well i start working all the hours i can handle and he is like. you cant be working overtime. sucks dude, peg a soda at his car

hmmmm even though he is your boss. Dont you know that what hes doin is an invasion of privacy. Hes monitoring how much you make by specifically targeting you and other employees. You best bet is to work slower or if theres anyone you can get along who works with you at your job you can all work slower and cause the time to go by slower and milk the clock. If not then look for a better paying job. When you get that next job and the pay is better watch you start to slip away and he can kiss your ass.

my mom told me about getting a job at the BMW plant. she knows somebody who works there and he said once you work so many hours a week you get paid $80/hour!!!! then on top of that he worked 10 hours that day. i know another guy who worked there and all he did was load z's 3's and x5's on/off the truck and got paid 14 or 15 an hour. BMW is looking real good right about now.Originally posted by h22sparklehmmmm even though he is your boss. Dont you know that what hes doin is an invasion of privacy.
