So I posted my car on a local sales site and I received this e-mail:

5000$ isnt that much for his car, hes got a decent mod list on it, and i paid 4.5 for mine STOCK, but in near perfect condition...i think 5grand is a fair price...

most of the time, when someone tries selling a car, there will be people that comment on the price. the only way you'll get positive comments is if you sell it for dirt cheap. if you ask for a fair price, people will bash you. so pretty much what i'm saying is, get used to it and move on. no need to make a thread.

get a lip, paint your sideskirts black and rear lip. get jdm 1 piece blackhoused
get some adr m sport rims or something with alot of spokes and then ull get close to 5k you have an h22 right. if so probly 4500 but still i would just do that and keep it!

x2. Hes trying to sell it already not put more money into it. The only part I agree with is that you wont get full value you invested in that car unless you have status like stickydiljoe. But other than that dont expect much but brush off people like that. If they think they can get a better deal tell them to go find that fucker. Since apparently he knows the price of everything.

lol i know, but a lip and painting the sideskirts/mudflaps and rear lip is only like 100 bucks and itll improve the appeareance imo by 100%... you could go without the rest. but i dont think he should sell it anyways....it has potential

Anyway I'm over it, I don't give a shit, but it pissed me off when I first read it like 20 minutes ago...lol. Nah I want to sell and save for an itr, but if I do keep it I already have the jdm blackhoused and I have my eye on some itr rims and I might get a lip and some new sideskirts. I don't expect full return in what I've put into it, I know that, but I know what it's worth and I'm asking $5000, but that's testing the waters, if I find a nice itr at a good price I will drop my price for a quick sale and of course I wont get what I've put into it, shit last year I had my whole transmission redone with the installation of the custom shifter the price on that was $2600 alone. So I realize what I have and I am probably overreacting to this fucking looser

i sold my accord, basically stock, for just over 3000 canadian with 234,xxx kms, rust, crappy paint(cracking and fading) and a few other problems with a good interior. a little while back there was a 92-93 cb in the paper, they were asking $8900 !! it had low km's (under 100,000kms) and im sure someone paid a pretty penny for that car. sure, your car might not be worth $5000 but there's always room to move. sounds to me like that guy has a problem with the resale value of japanese cars in general, modded or stock. mabye if he wasn't spending $25 on an oil filter for his jetta he could afford to buy one for himself.
