I need some printer help...

Does anyone have any clue why my printer would print from Adobe Acrobat with no issue, but won't print a thing from Microsoft Word?

I'm trying to print up decal envelopes, and everything I type in Word isn't printing out! It makes noise like it's printing, but nothing shows up on the paper.

I have a Lexmark x4270 printer, with just a black ink cartridge (yeah, I know that could be part of the issue... but I'm only printing black!)

it could be because Word is printing black using cmyk where as acrobat is printing true black using the cartridge. try setting it for b&w printing and see if that makes a difference.

I can't find anything to change those settings... I have the printer set to do B&W already... it should work.

I got another word processing program, Abiword, and it worked... kinda... it wouldn't print the regular portrait style on the envelope, no matter how i set it.

Dammit... I need to find another good program. It printed from AbiWord, so maybe it'll print PROPERLY from some other program!

Well... I have to apologize to those who are getting decals this time around... the envelopes don't have the cool logo on them! I had to hand-write them. Which SUCKS. I swear, there's something wrong with me... writing by hand is very difficult.

Barely... I nearly failed penmanship in the 3rd grade Plus, I combine words, and I always seem to write 2-3 letters ahead. If I'm writing "dog", I'll think "d-o-g" and then write the "g" because my mind was that far ahead of my hands... Is that dyslexia?

Your problem is its a Lexmark.

Really, worst printers I've ever used.

Tell me about it... it was given to me. I already have another (also a Lexmark) that works... but I have to use the one I have for work (it has the feed scanner... the other is a flatbed)
